LOS ANGELES -- HBO has apologized for using a model head of former President George W. Bush in a grisly decapitation scene for its hit drama "Game of Thrones."
The tenth episode of the first season of "Game of Thrones," now out on DVD, features the younger Bush's head on a stake. Commentary on the DVD notes that his head appears in a "couple of beheading scenes."
The show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss stated that George W. Bush's was used as physical inspiration to create a head for a scene in which King Joffrey shows Sansa Stark her deceased father's head on a stick.
"It's not a choice, not a political statement!" one of the writers insisted during the DVD commentary. "We just had to use what heads we had around."

Wait. Are these aholes FOR "choice" or not?
To use Obama ... well, that would be just racist....
Means all the important stuff has been taken care of.
Apology NOT accepted!
I cancelled HBO 6 months ago. Pay an extra $30 a month to be insulted?
No mas.
No, I can see it immediately.
Some people also think that Christine Amanpour has a painting of two large carrots on her wall.
I don’t have HBO. Everything is downloadable over the internet via torrent. Why buy DVD’s and make these libtards money?
Everything for leftists in hollywood is political - the moment you forget that, you lose. I think everyone expected something just not exactly which show.
I wonder if it was used in the episodes that they let GRRM direct.
I know that he hates GWB with a passion that he would behead him, himself, if he thought he could get away with it.
Pathetic sh!tbirds. I’d cancel them except I already did about 10 years ago.
No doubt Tyrion Lannister would have a double entendre handy for this incident.
How is “Game of Thrones” a “hit”?
I found it amazingly lame and gave up on it after the first season. Every decision the protagonist made was the stupidest possible decision to be made in whatever situation he was in.
By the time he was killed all I could think was, “Finally, you had that coming, idiot.”
By itself, it would have gone unnoticed. But they thought they could get some marketing hype by talking about it. And given everything else these A-holes do to slam conservatives and Republicans, there is no question in my mind that this was in fact a choice and a political statement.
Yeah...do it first, then ask for forgiveness.
Oh well HBO. Might as well piss off whatever Americans still watch your drivel. Stupid....Yes, Mistake....No.
Call them and cancel anyway.
The problem with that attitude is that when you get to a "conservative"-based show you are far more unlikely to support it.
I believe, actually, that the "conservative" values (i.e. Justice) are the main reason that the super-hero movies have done pretty well.
Even the Green Lantern movie, which was poorly written, did pretty well considering that.
