He's been a pleasant surprise on social issues, even signing pro-life bills.
I don't like his spending views on bridges or his pension tax.

It strikes me as odd that Michigan requires a permit to purchase a handgun, yet at the same time is a shall issue state. It's an old relic from the 1920's that's still hung around. The permit system was passed when the black population was increasing in Michigan during the great migration.
Shall Issue passed in 2000.

It is because of such as this that Obama will lose Michigan. This is a slap in the Lefts face. I would think it more like a punch in the gut.

That’s what I thought might be the explanation. Thanks for the info!

And, there you have it. Shall not be infringed still means bupkis. A good incremental step would be to remove rifles and shotguns from the instant check requirements.
It took 75 years to get here. I hope we can restore the rights in only a couple of decades.

I am afraid of the dang things, myself.Me too. Many people are killed or injured even while cleaning them. That's why I let my son clean my guns. :)

You and I have about the same view of the NRA.
It’s sad, but I don’t support it. It’s not really the defender of gun rights it pretends to be. And when the Dems demonize it, I kind of laugh.
One thing you’ve got to give the Libs credit for, they file suits against everyone that disagrees with them at all. They just bury folks, groups, states, voters, in legal paperwork.
Our guys tiptoe out once in a while and timidly file a suit. Real dedication there...

That’s great. I don’t like it that we live in that kind of world, but your kids are prepared. Excellent!

Canu? Canuo? I dont even know how to spell it.”
Same thing happened to me...only in my case it was a rowboat. Because I can spell rowboat.
No, seriously. It really happened that way! Honest!

What do you think about the announcement to build another bridge to Canada without the consent of the legislature or the people.
To: smithandwesson76subgun
Mixed. I’ll give you that it is a good idea to be wary of any large project. Snyder is saying that it won’t cost Michiganders anything and the opposition is saying it will cost a ton and it is kind of murky which side is right.
On the other hand A) Not all issues are directly voted on by people. B) Isn’t the guy who is making the biggest stink the owner of the other bridge, the competition?
