The AFL-CIO has told Washington Whispers it will redeploy funds away from political candidates smack dab in the middle of election season, the latest sign that the largest federation of unions in the country could be becoming increasingly disillusioned with President Obama.
The federation says the shift has been in the works for months, and had nothing to do with the president's failure to show in Wisconsin last week, where labor unions led a failed recall election of Governor Scott Walker.
"We wanted to start investing our funds in our own infrastructure and advocacy," AFL-CIO spokesman Josh Goldstein told Whispers. "There will be less contributions to candidates," including President Obama.
While there were "a lot of different opinions" about whether Obama should have gone to Wisconsin, according to Goldstein, "this is not a slight at the president."

AFL-CIO getting even..
All told, how much did the Unions blow in Wisconsin? Twenty million? And now no mandatory dues collection? Whew. Talk about bad strategy. Glad to see they wasted all that money!
Will other unions Teamsters etc follow suit ?

And all 0bama contributed was a Tweet. Yep, they’re mad at him.
Well the wheel fell off of that wagon.
And it will work because many politicians will carry the water for whomever is providing the contributions.
If true, this is HUGE news.
It’s all going to the Dems like always.
Obama’s well funded so others will get more.

Wow.
Now I’m getting concerned that Obama is doing SO bad that the DEMs will try to make Hillary Clinton the candidate.
Wow! I think that it has a lot to do with the losing recall effort in Wisconsin, as well as polls showing an across the board erosion in Obama’s support, even among black voters. This makes me wonder if union leaders are working on the inside, using their economic and manpower leverage to bring about a major shift in Democratic support to Hillary, either as a replacement for Biden, or even the top of the ticket.
O’Bumbler’s new book ‘The Audacity of Failure’
That's a nice new plate glass window. It would be a shame if something happened to it.
If Hoffa wasn’t such a flaming Commie, the teamsters would be a Republican Union. After all they are almost exclusively a private sector concern.
There was a time when labor unions wanted economic growth. Maybe that time is coming again.
“If true, this is HUGE news.”
It’s bigger than that. It is HUGH and quite SERIES!!!!
The administration will be STUNED by this.
You betcha. Without the tweet, the 'slight' would have been much less insulting.
