They might as well put up a swastika flag on New York City hall. The german nationalist socialists were the first health nazi's. hitler was vegetarian and the nazi's also started the first anti-smoking campaign.
Also popcorn is a whole grain, I guess whole wheat bread will be next.

Popcorn? Why not potato chips, pizza, lasagna, ice cream and a host of other calorie-rich snacks?
What astounds me that 40+% of the Sheeple in NYC approve of this. I’m utterly flabbergasted that the number approving of this is actually above 5%.

Of course they ignore the fact that there are some families out here who buy the biggest drink and popcorn combo and then share it among several people. That is what we do, 1 big soda and popcorn shared by my wife, 2 daughters and myself. And the jumbo sodas are half to 3/4s filled with ice cubes before the soda is put into the cup.

Also popcorn is a whole grain . . .Not only that, but it is rich in fiber and roughage. It is the butter and salt which makes it less than healthy.

“Earlier at the meeting, it was revealed that the city’s obesity crisis causes 5,800 deaths a year and costs taxpayers $4billion annually.”
BS, pure BS and I would love to see how they arrived at those figures. I’m sure it was assumed that obesity was always a contributing factor no matter the cause listed on the DC.

If I go to New York, can I eat regular canned corn with butter and salt? How about corn on the cob with butter and salt? I suppose the act of popping the stuff makes it illegal.
Insane, illogical morons. By the time they're done, the neo-Victorian statists will have everyone eating specific administered doses of tofu and white beans.
And who is the pudgy little bastard Bloomberg to tell ANYONE how to be healthy?

I just came back from a business trip in Japan. I didn’t see ten fat Japanese the entire trip. Mostly, I attribute that to the better-quality foods and smaller portions. Americans eat too damn much crap.
With that said, I’m all for pushing public awareness on eating issues and banning New York politicians
