Assuming that you have a Windows machine, download Windows Defender from Microsoft. It’s an off line virus/malware scanner based on Microsoft Security Essentials. You burn it to a CD then boot from it. This has worked well for me.
Did that, was told there was a conflict with Vista (HP).
It shut down the system cold, after it said Windows Defender will do you no good. This is a new one on me. Did MalwareBytes and a couple others. Got rid of it, last night it pops up again with a chat window, asking about having sex.
What if my youngest would’ve been on the computer?

What AMiller said. You can also download ESET NOD 32 for Windows machines. It has been very thorough for me.
I too can’t stand the endless infatuation Rush has with Apple, particularly since that company is in a liberal area with a liberal board of directors.
To this day I haven’t bought into the Apple cult, hype, religion or fanaticism. (I also didn’t buy the stock.)
I have tried their products, and just don’t like them.
