Revealed: Obama campaign launches 'unprecedented' data mining operation (leaving Romney struggling)
The London Daily Mail ^ | June 10, 2012 | Staff

Four years ago Barack Obama’s presidential campaign set an impressive new standard for using social media and technology to harness votes.

But this time round Obama’s campaign have raised the bar even higher and, according to experts, this advantage could make all the difference to securing a second term in office.

According to a report by Politico today, Obama’s campaign know ‘what you read and where you shop, what kind of work you do and who you count as friends. They also know who your mother voted for in the last election.’

Carried out by 150 techies this extensive data mining could give Obama the crucial edge, in what is believed to be a tight race to the White House this November.

Through Facebook, Twitter and other online sources, the campaign is working tirelessly to create a formidable data base collecting specific profiles of potential voters.

Depending on factors, such as age, interests and socio-economic levels, the campaign is able to tailor messages to these potential voters.

'They are way ahead of Romney micro-targeting and it’s a level of precision we haven’t seen before,' Darrell M. West, a leading scholar on technology innovation at the Brookings Institution, told Politico.

Unsurprisingly, the Obama campaign believes the effort and money being poured into gaining a technological advantage will pay off....

Not being a Facebook or Twitter twit, all I can say is "Thanks goodness" I never got involved with with them, for just seeing that a$$ on my tv is bad enough!

My biggest problem is they can generate targeted lists to hand out to the thuggish leftists. Is the left creating their own McCarthy list...techno-style?

"Continuing from the success of his 2008 campaign, which raised millions in funding through online donations, Obama’s re-election campaigners also had another head start..."

I thought I just read that Romney had outraised Zero for individual campaign contributions in May. Which is unusual for a Republican.

My wife received a mailer from the Obama campaign. Since AFAIK she's never voted for a 'rat, that's about as far off target as they can get, unless they're soliciting money from Romney.

So far their efforts seem unimpressive. How did the Wisconsin cyberwars work out last week?

Note to Google analytics, zedo, cdn: I am more interested in ads for Macy's upcoming furniture sale than fake polls, banner ads, and pictures of Moochelle or Barack.

ALL that it means is that IF obamao wins... this will make it easier for them to arrest, imprison and kill all of the opposition... but it will not put money in anyone’s pocket and it will not find a job for the jobless. No amount of data mining can change the actions of the worst president in our History. If only we had a real alternative to vote for... stories like these would be laughed off the front pages of the communist publications.

“I’m not a techie at all. Is this important?”

Think of it this way... If this were a company seeking out potential customers who love subs and sandwiches, data mining would provide a means for identifying and segmenting out those individuals from the general population for targeted marketing efforts. It is a great way to reduce your marketing and advertising costs, but it in no way guarantees that the prospective customers will be interested in or act on your offer. This is especially true in this case, where the data mining efforts are all designed to sell a “turd sandwich” (Barack Hussein Obama).

This is nothing more than socialist MSM propoganda attempting to pump up the “turd” and dispirit those who will vote against him in November. It is irrelevant.

'They are way ahead of Romney micro-targeting ...

And last month, behind Romney in fundraising, so how'a that micro stuff working out for 'ya Obummer? You can micro til the cows come home (or in your case, the chickens come home to roost) & it won't get people in the voting booth. Even the 'Obama Girl' isn't voting for you this time around.

All the data-mining in the world cannot guarantee who someone selects in a voting booth.

Obama doesn't have the same effect on voters that he had coming out of 8 yrs with W as President.

Too many know what he is capable of and will think twice before getting sucked in by the hype this time.

Although some are beyond hope and would vote for him if he were serving a Life sentence in a federal prison. (That's a dream I have sometimes of what is in Obama's future)

If he can’t fix the economy (and he can’t), all of this data mining is worthless.

Yesterday I was surfing FR and caught a post about the Keltec shotgun. I searched over to their site and was infected by several Trojans that lock my computer for hours. It mimicked a hard drive crash and nearly had me convinced that it was wiped. I trust both of the sites I visited, but...
I don't know that this was in any way related to this data mining but once they know you are against them they easily could use that info to harass. Viruses, Trojans, ID theft/manipulation.
Would not surprise me a bit.

In marketing it really has a lot to do with the product.
A regular story in marketing is about a dog food company who spent tons of money trying to sell a new line. The upper management threatened and yelled and the team tried everything (just like obummer)..until one day the janitor comes in to the room and tells them - the dogs just don’t like the dog food and your not going to change that.

Well, too late guys. Hard to market your polished turd when people can smell it every time they leave their homes, if they still have one. Yeah, put some lipstick on it this time, that will do it.

What that accomplishes is PO’s You Tube users who then don’t vote for him because he spent months making their online fun a kind of hell. Seriously. The average non political buff will change their vote, if they vote at all for a lot less.

His real problem with that is he’s getting called out now on the fact that all he does is political. If he has to send out a dozen different ‘messages’ at some point his hypocrisy will show out in the conflicting nature of his pitches.

Dave Methews Baand sold out in the Albany NY area, drawing 25,000 each night, Saturday and Sunday.
Also had a Register to Vote Promotion.
Is that a “mining the vote” operation?
