OWS is like a virus. It will mutate into something even more horrible.
The left will be most dangerous when cornered and threatened out of existence.
Just as many of us observed from the beginning, one was well-funded street theater a fraction of an inch deep, the other was an unfunded but genuine grassroots protest. It’s the difference between the cardboard cutout of an Abrams tank and the real thing. No matter how many pictures you take of the former, it doesn’t make the latter go away.
Children have short attention spans. OWS was doomed as soon as the sparkle wore off.
The smelly OWS hippies don’t have the attention span of us intelligent, refined....look, a balloon!
OWS was supposed to whip up sentiment against “Wall Street”, figuring to make Romney the poster child for Wall Street. Whoever thought a bunch of dirty hippies, Marxists and anarchists holding slow motion riots in cities all over America was going to win over the American public was out of their mind.
The reason the “Occupy” protesters are fading and the Tea Party is growing is very simple — the Occupy folks don’t believe in anything,they are afraid to commit to anything and they are unwilling to put in the effort needed to make their “movement” succeed.
For the Tea Party people it is exactly the opposite — they truly believe in what they are saying and doing,they are committed to the cause of saving this country from the enemy, and they are not afraid to work hard.
The Tea Party is a genuine American movement. OWS is no different from the Soviet-funded no-nukers of the 1980s.
OWS did Wisconsin’s Scot Walker a favor.
But focussing on “income inequality” they drew people’s attention to the diparity in pay and especially benefits between public and private workers and also union and non-union workers.
In other words, their ‘income inequalty’ message backfired on them. People took it to heart but NOT the way they intended.
If it’s not a grass root heartfelt movement....with NO leader, just us “schmucks” clinging to our Bibles and guns, there is no stopping us.
America is America, no matter what they say.
