We begin tonight with what has become by any measure a pretty massive protest movement. While it goes by the official name ‘Occupy Wall Street,’ it has spread steadily and far beyond Wall Street, and it could well turn out to be the protest of this current era. ---Brian Williams on Oct. 5, 2011 gushing with extreme hype over OWS.
Despite all the friendly hype given to the Occupy Wall Street protests by much of the mainstream media, OWS is now in its death throes according to this Reuters report by Chris Francescani. He also notes that as OWS is about to be taken off life support, the much maligned Tea Party movement is doing quite well by contrast:

I’m glad these OWS idiots are flailing.
Sadly the WS folks are flailing too.
Quick! Someone post pic of the Occupy Police Car Pooper
Real grass versus Astroturf.
useful idiots no longer needed....FAILED!
OWS is like a virus. It will mutate into something even more horrible.
The left will be most dangerous when cornered and threatened out of existence.
Just as many of us observed from the beginning, one was well-funded street theater a fraction of an inch deep, the other was an unfunded but genuine grassroots protest. It’s the difference between the cardboard cutout of an Abrams tank and the real thing. No matter how many pictures you take of the former, it doesn’t make the latter go away.
Children have short attention spans. OWS was doomed as soon as the sparkle wore off.
There only so long you can crap in the streets
Color me skeptical. Just a bunch of whiny brats that need an ass whuppin!
The smelly OWS hippies don’t have the attention span of us intelligent, refined....look, a balloon!
OWS was supposed to whip up sentiment against “Wall Street”, figuring to make Romney the poster child for Wall Street. Whoever thought a bunch of dirty hippies, Marxists and anarchists holding slow motion riots in cities all over America was going to win over the American public was out of their mind.
The reason the “Occupy” protesters are fading and the Tea Party is growing is very simple — the Occupy folks don’t believe in anything, they are afraid to commit to anything and they are unwilling to put in the effort needed to make their “movement” succeed.
For the Tea Party people it is exactly the opposite — they truly believe in what they are saying and doing, they are committed to the cause of saving this country from the enemy, and they are not afraid to work hard.
Are you saying real pot against artificial?
The Tea Party is a genuine American movement. OWS is no different from the Soviet-funded no-nukers of the 1980s.
The left will be most dangerous when cornered and threatened out of existence.

I fear you are correct, my scarlet canine friend.
Plus nobody is paying the Tea Party people to protest.
