McALLEN — Federal jurors Thursday convicted a San Juan man in an immigrant smuggling case involving a 16-year-old girl with whom he tried to have sex.
Pedro Salazar, 56, was convicted Thursday of conspiracy and harboring illegal aliens in U.S. District Court in McAllen.
Jurors spent less than three hours deliberating the verdict following a two-day trial.
Prosecutors said a group of three illegal immigrants from El Salvador and Guatemala fled a two-vehicle accident Feb. 24.After the group hid in the brush for a few hours, they wandered down a road, where Salazar passed and asked if they needed help. They said yes.
Salazar offered to feed the immigrants, but he instead drove them to his restaurant where he put them to work, prosecutors said.
The immigrants painted, set up display cases and shelves, dusted, swept and mopped for six hours before Salazar gave them food, prosecutors said. After that, they performed more chores.

Reminds me of a scene in the mayors office in “Dirty Harry”.....something about a naked man with a meatcleavor chasing a woman....with Harry making a noteworthy analysis of the situation which resulted in the 44 magnum stabilizing the situation. I would quote it explicitly, but the moderator might take exception.
The jury must have ordered out lunch because they took about 2 hours and 59 minutes too long to reach a decision.
No doubt, there was a diverse jury in that area who nailed the sleeze ball.
Naked? That immigrant must have been pretty small.
Glancing at the true crime cable shows-—they might as well name the shows: “An Evening of Savagery w /Spanish subtitles————Robbing, Raping, Killing, and Dealing Drugs that Americans won’t do.”

Now, now. Let's not be so 'judgmental'. Where Pedro Salazar comes from a 16 yo girl is almost an 'old maid', that she should already be married and have at least two kids. You're also forgetting that "all cultures are equal". And maybe most important of all, that: "Family Values don't stop at the Rio Grande".
Undoubtedly this jury was made up of a bunch of close minded 'Latino Haters' (Latinophoebes?) who don't understand Pedro's 'culture' and his 'family values'.

Look, it's bad enough he's chasing a girl, but this girl is also convicted for the crime of immigrant smuggling.
That reminds me of an example sentence in 4th Grade English showing how NOT to write a sentence: “The hunter shot the deer in the red hat.”

Man, conservatives are so intolerant abd uncompassionate.
