RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) -- A United Nations report warns that the earth's environmental systems "are being pushed towards their biophysical limits" and that sudden, irreversible and potentially catastrophic changes are looming.
The UN's Environment Program says that climate change, the depletion of the ozone layer, plummeting fish stocks and the mass extinction of animals are among the most worrisome environmental threats.

They said the exact same thing 10 years ago.

I can remember hearing this exact same speech but using slightly different reasons in 1977 while in 8th grade.

“I can remember hearing this exact same speech but using slightly different reasons in 1977 while in 8th grade.”
When I was in the 8th grade (’71), they told us by the year 2000, the world would be so polluted we wouldn’t be able to produce food and would become cannibals. That we’d be living in an ace age and wouldn’t live past 40 years old.
So, trying to scare little kids apparently isn’t considered child abuse.
Frankly, these people are FOS and looking for any excuse to control the individual.

Was the report written by the 1st grade graduate or the 2nd grade graduate on their staff?
Inquiring minds want to know?

I believe it's always been this way. If you want to live on a planet with a static climate , go find one. This one is dynamic. Besides, if it is happening, there ain't a damn thing we could do about it anyway.

If true a bunch of people would die which is what they claim to want anyway.

Also I love how they all jet down to Rio de Janeiro to receive and impart this “wisdom”.

It’s just too bad the UN couldn’t have been around way back when to save the dinosaurs.
