Those warm, loving, kind-hearted leftists will turn on you so fast: last night an enraged supporter of Tom Barrett slapped him for conceding the race.
(HT: The Hope for America.)
I dont recall no pun intended this sort of thing ever happening on an Election Night before.
I wonder how Democratic officeholders and their professional class feel about having a grassroots base that is, at least in some parts, psychotic enough to resort to physical violence upon their own candidates for acknowledging reality. At the time, Barrett trailed by about 10 percentage points or 200,000 votes; as of this morning, Walker won by 7 percentage points, or roughly 173,000 votes.
The woman slapped him and then stuck her finger in his face and forcefully scolded him for conceding while there were still people voting.
My guess is that she is a public union employee. The unions picked their candidate early in the process - Kathleen Falk - and spent a lot of time and energy demonizing Tom Barrett leading up to the primary. They knew that Tom Barrett is no friend of the unions and that he would give them lip service at best. So when Barrett beat Falk in the primary, all they could do was get behind a man they didn't support because he was all they had left. When Barrett conceded, I think that poor woman lost it. To her, not only had Barrett stolen the recall election from the unions, but he then went on to give the state right back to Scott Walker and he didn't even bother to fight to the bitter end.
If this woman is married, I feel real bad for heusband.
From what I read, she said she wanted to hit him, he said he’d prefer a hug, leaned down to hug her, and she hauled off and hit him.
He or she will be looking towards many, many nights of "not now, I have a headache!"
Now that you mention it, I can see that he might be leaning over to hug her (not a wise thing to do with a stranger who is arguing with you).
Actually, she is going to be walking around with a very large chip on her shoulder for a very long time. Just about anybody in her path can expect ill treatment from her, but I really pity the person or people that might share a home with her.
Good Heavens! The guy was actually bursting into tears over the possibility of Barrett’s loss. Has anybody checked the hospital ERs today?
I think we’ll definitely see a lot more violence in this election cycle. I usually work as a poll-watcher and the only times I’ve ever been concerned in the past have been in situations involving Dem voters, who even when they are in the majority and are pretty sure they’re going to win, always seem primed to go off. I’m not sure I’m going to work the polls again this year.
I thought that was the best video of DUmmies in action.
