MSNBC CALLS WALKER WIN: RECALL LOSES [ 22% Reporting Walker 61%, Barrett=38%]
(Excerpt) Read more at msnbc.msn.com ...
Ah, nothing like crushing my enemies, seeing them driven before me, and to hear the lamentations of their “women”. (Hard to tell with the lot over at MSDNC)
I am currently having a glass of wine to celebrate.
CNN keeps discussing that it’s a tough year for any incumbent, even though Walker “hung on”.
How do they figure? Walker is in a blue state, did controversial stuff, and is winning. Doesn’t that mean it’s a tough year for democrats?
LOL!
That is what sort of concerns me, Milwaukee, Madison etc will be among the last to report.
My CNN Alert said Walker wins “narrowly”.
putz’s all of them.
“Survives.” Yeah, right. “Crush your enemies, see them flying before you, and hear the lamentations of their women.” That kind of survival.
“Maybe the pollsters lied not the people”
Salient point, there, I don’t think many people lie to pollsters. I know it’s kind of promoted here, but, I think most people just refuse to be polled. If they agree to be polled, I don’t think too many lie.
Dang it.
The Beginning Of The End Of OFudgePackula!!
I would literally buy tickets to watch that show.
There’s nothing to be concerned about - the news organizations “call” a race as soon as there are enough “real” votes in a cross section of precincts to compare to the results in the same precints from the exit polling. If the results match the exit polling, or are actually even more in favor of who was leading than the exit polls were, they can comfortably call the race.
And of course since 2000 they are far more cautious about doing so; we’re not going to see 2000 repeated in a major election, Walker has this in the bag.
And of course the CNN exit poll reported as “too close to call” or “neck and neck” was actually 52-48 Walker, which really is enough of a margin just from that to be 90% sure Walker actually won; as soon as the exit polls at least matched that they called the race.
The one thing that seems pretty ridiculous to me is that they would NOT have reported a 52-48 Barrett margin as “too close to call” or “neck and neck” - they would have stated that Barrett had a narrow lead in exit polling.
It will be interesting to see how the actual results compare to the exit polling (I suspect it will be Walker with a 6-7% margin) but overall, just like 99.9999% of all elections, the accuracy of scientific polling and exit polling will be demonstrated to be quite high, yet again.
I think part of the obessive hatred of pollsters people have is because the predictability of election results makes election nights so boring now. People feel the need to invent polling failures that don’t exist
.
MSNBC has just disappeared this nights election. They are now talking about Romney.
I actually expected more of a blowup from Special Ed. He seemed pretty sedate when I saw him talking to Maddie. Will he need valium, thorazine, or “something stronger” tonight.
Somebody put him and Chrissy on suicide watch.
If you’re talking about the exit polls, neither the people nor the pollsters lied, almost certainly.
There’s always a margin of error and it’s possible that the exit poll with only a 4% margin will end up 2,3, or even 4% off.
You can just end up with a bad sample, or the Republicans were too busy to answer the exit poll because they had to go back to their job, and the Democrats had all the time in the world, etc.
