Once-secret emails from Mitt Romney's time as governor that were revealed today spurred a flurry of comments about the candidate's support for the so-called individual mandate. Yet there's another issue that's been revived: Romney's secrecy.
When Romney left the governor's office in Massachusetts, his staff erased all the emails from a computer server and bought the hard drives used to store data, so that their correspondence would stay hidden.
Or so they thought.
Tom Trimarco, Romney's administration and finance secretary, never deleted his emails. Some of them surfaced today in The Wall Street Journal, which submitted a public information request for emails involving Trimarco and officials in the administration.
The emails show that Romney was neck-deep in negotiations to get his health care bill passed, that he personally wrote op-eds about it, and that he defended the so-called individual mandate to buy health insurance, a provision in President Obama's law that has drawn criticism from Republicans.

BTW, it is not just rhetoric that Mitt was hip deep in persecution of people of conscience. I worked as a legal intern for Liberty Counsel when Mitt was running MA, and we were getting calls from good people who were being told by his administration they had no right to conscientious objection when it came to abortion. He was and remains a man capable of profound evil. He can kiss my proud Scottish underwear.

I believe in my heart that if God saw Americans, in order to avoid confronting the evil that is Obama, opt instead to vote FOR a person (that would be Romney) who has used his government office to trailblaze tax-funded on-demand abortion AND the "outreach" of open homosexuality to children as young as 12 years old, then God would cease to bless America.
I believe in my heart that if God sees that Americans are moral enough to risk facing Obama in order to avoid having a hand in promoting such depravity and evil as on-demand abortion and leading children to accept sexual perversion, then WHEN/IF we are faced with Obama, God would COME TO OUR AID with His miracles.

Someone asked me a while back for some reason to vote for Romney, instead of just reasons to vote against Barry. Before I could respond, another poster demanded to know why I thought Romney is different from Obama. My response then was based in what I know of Mormonism, one of the few positives about that cult: the strength of commitment to family and the number of Mormon families in the United States who will be devastated if the Republic collapses. Do folks really believe that the well publicized Mormon food banking process will be protected when starving gaggles begin raiding the burbs to survive the collapse of the cutlture? and that is what we are staring int he face if Barry succeeds in his agenda! Romney has a vested interest in preventing that collapse because he is very responsible to those Mormon families.
But anything posted as a reason to differentiate Romney and Obama is immediately pounced upon with mouth foaming attacks, and such a poster is accused of being a mittbot, too stupid to be a conservative, evil, making a deal with the devil, not a real Christian, and assorted other epithets of perhaps creative spittle but still insults aimed at trying to squelch the discussion before reason may prevail.
Look at the accusations spittled from finny the wise because I would not dance to the sour music that poster offered, teaching us a lesson that third party voting punishes the other two parties so that they 'get the message' and the one of that two which wins is so weakened that they reform. It wasn't a difficult line of reasoning to follow, but for not dancing off onto that line, I was accused of not reading the thread, of not being able to understand the nuance of the genius being gifted to me for my enlightenment, of having gone over to the darkside, of having lost my sanity over the dangers I ignorantly believe Obama poses.
In recent days I have been attacked and insulted by a fellow Inman with the most vicious accusation that one could come up with, that I had been converted to Mormonism by my lost friend who is a Mormon bishop and high priest also. I mean, after more than a decade exposing the blasphemies and heresies at the heart of Mormonism, that is really a finely crafted lowest denominator insult indeed! IMO you have just shot your whole argument in the foot by illustrating that Mitt's tribe will be his "vested interest". Evangelicals are well aware of this.
Vote for whom you choose. The other members of FR have the right to do the same without being excoriated doing so.

Hey Finny. I read through from post 108 to about 138. I see that you're having an argument that's becoming more frequent around FR. I just had one myself today, but thankfully, it wasn't as heated.
I've argued with others over this subject strenuously in the last month or two, but I've reached a point where I simply want to state my views and help others to understand them. I'm doing my very best to extend the same courtesy to those who see things a bit differently.
In a nutshell, Mitt Romney is a liberal Republican with a record that would make any left-wing Democrat proud. His record in office documents the fact that he stands in direct opposition to everything that I stand for. In their infinite stupidity, the GOP establishment foisted this quisling upon us, and started an internal war that couldn't have been more deftly planned, if they were the enemy (and one can certainly make the case that they are).
Quite frankly, my personal honor and integrity are more valuable and precious to me than winning an election. I will not willingly give my blessing (vote) to a man who merely pretends to be on the patriotic conservative side. I refuse to be bullied or shamed into letting go of the one thing I have control over, which is my personal honor.
Simply put, what we're facing is Art of War 101.
We are very likely to have a Republican dominated Congress in 2013. If Romney becomes the president, he'll be the de facto head of the Republican party. That Congress will not oppose his Socialistic agenda with anywhere near the force that they'd oppose a re-elected Obama, who will be the de facto head of the Democrat party.
Now, I'm not advocating that anyone vote for Obama, nor am I telling anyone that they shouldn't vote for Romney to stop him. I'm merely pointing out what the future dynamics of the next four years are going to be, depending on which man is elected.
The other great fear I have with these dynamics, is that once elected, the mere presence of a 'Republican' in the White House will cause much of the wind to go out of the sails of the Tea Party rebellion. In fact, it may be becalmed altogether, which would be a disaster of frightening proportions to the future of the nation. We will not make it, if the Tea Party goes silent over the next four years. They are the only force that is driving the political establishment back, at this point.
Again - the dynamics at work mean that a second term for Obama will result in an even more fired up, activist populace. I'm afraid that won't happen under Romney.
I want to take a moment to acknowledge your concept of taking just enough votes away from Mittens, that he doesn't wind up with a 'mandate' for 'change'. Given his leftward tilt, I fear what such a winning margin would mean for him.
