Chaos erupted in Shreveport today as police officers arrested state GOP delegates who support Ron Paul for the party's 2012 presidential nomination.
The dispute arose after the state party's central committee issued "supplemental rules" earlier this week concerning the delegate selection process. A press release from the Ron Paul campaign this afternoon referred to the 11th hour changes as "illegal rules."
After fights in the Rules Committee Friday, state party chairman opened the convention moving to pass the new rules, when the majority of delegates moved to elect a new convention chair. When Villere refused to yield the dais, the majority elected a new chair and turned their chairs. As this was happening, the Villere faction convinced the Shreveport Police Department to arrest some of the Paul delegates holding microphones for "trespassing."
During the forcible arrests, Shreveport police dislocated the hip of the gentlemen in the video here, identified by the Paul campaign as State Central Commiteeman Henry Herford Jr. of Franklin Parish.

There is a lesson there which will probably be lost on the Paulistinians.
How would you have felt in 1980, if after getting the votes you needed the state party illegally changed the rules to deny you and other Reagan supporters the power due to you?
The Paulistinians have a right to be angry.
” - - - Best case scenario here... Romney gets dumped at the convention and ANYONE ELSE (non-socialist anyone else) gets the nomination.”
Well said!
Like the left, they are perpetually angry. Yeah, the state party apparatus was a little heavy handed in dealing with them. Just like they were a little heavy handed in thinking a 6% primary vote should result in 30 of 46 (65%) of Louisiana's delegates.
They can take their fight to the convention and challenge the state GOP organization. They can make it all about Ron Paul's ego rather than trying to do something worthwhile like giving states which actually deliver electoral votes in the fall to the GOP a lot more delegates and those which consistently fail to do so a lot less.
How old are you anyway? Did you even read my Freeper profile page about something similar which happened to my candidate in 1976 and how we dealt with it?
You’re a troll. What the other poster has written is true. Not our fault your loser Romney can’t convince people to come and caucus for him. Move on.
“Based upon the unofficial election results”...
The actual election is the delegates casting their votes. The people vote in a straw poll, they appoint their delegates, the delegates convene and vote for their candidates.
LA has to apportion their delegates according to to the star vote, but they are not binding on the delegates.
Or is Santorum still going to collect his votes? No? Well, I guess those delegates get to vote for one of the last two still in the running.
interesting.......

Romney is the weakest option who will be crushed in a general election .
The Dems need Obamacare to be a non issue in 2012 and Mittens guarantees that .
Mittens is pro abortion ,pro global warming ,pro cap and trade , and pro
Govt .
The base will stay home thanks to his fire bombing of the other primary options .
He ran the most destructive hate filled primary campaign in my lifetime .
This guy hates the GOP voters .
He is John McCain part ii without the military story

Heavy handed? It was pretty underhanded. Also, Ron Paul got 6% in a wide open race. After the race narrowed, delegates who supported him got a ton. The argument that this is some sort of coup isn’t fair.
If Republicans had a successful GOTV drive in Cali and they elect an unpopular guy/gal, it wouldn’t be a coup or improper.
If you don’t like the Ron Paul delegates... Vote against them.
read my previous post ncalburt detested Romney not so long ago..........
No. Thanks anyway.
There is currently a group of attorneys from different states that are about to file a federal lawsuit re: CIVIL RIGHTS AND VOTER FRAUD VIOLATIONS against the the GOP-e.
They with a group of Ron Paul Delegates and supports have being documenting testimonies from across the country of GOP-e fraud against Ron Paul delegates and supporters by the GOP establishment at state level and at the national level. Developing this week.
This is EXACTLY what is needed!
When we play by their rules and they do not, then we hold them accountable.
Eventually we take them over, and then they must play by our rules.
As long as we compromise away our values, we will be as despicable as the Democrats!
