Hmmmmm....sounds very, VERY familiar.
"Those el'gunos? They fell off the el'boato."
“but by at least one count, Venezuela’s murder rate is four times higher than that of Mexico’s”
I don’t even have to read the article to know “who” did the counting that would make this “necessary” and a “good solution.”
The Left works very hard to destroy real history and also down-play the study of history in this nation. There are obvious reasons for this.
My spanish is a little rusty but...
“Mis armas se cayo’ in el agua durante un accidente del barco.”
I’m surprised Chavez hadn’t taken his nation’s citizens’ guns away already.
When you preach that wealth is by its nature ill-gotten, you open pandora’s box. And the victims will not be the rich, who can afford to provide for their security, but the old lady at the ATM who gets assaulted, or the store-keeper trying to make his drop at the bank. Or the house-wife who gets car-jacked.
Crime was always a problem in Venezuela (where socialism has been the religion for ever) but it has exploded since Chavez declared war on the rich which is how he disguised his war on freedom.
But it will make the ruling class more secure, and that’s what concerns them.
What Good Can a Handgun Do Against An Army?

And next comes the tyranny. :)
Who would have thought a Marxist banning weapons.
Reminds me of 0bama's citizen army.
Well Venezuela...you got one last chance to use them.
Aim small, miss small.
