'Prison Show' host resigns over decision to ban co-host (Jon Matthews)
The Houston Chronicle ^ | 6/1/12 | David Barron

The host of KPFT's (90.1 FM) "Prison Show" has resigned, citing the Pacifica Radio station's decision to prohibit him from using former talk show host and convicted felon Jon Matthews as his co-host.

David Babb, who has hosted the Friday night show since January 2011, said the station is sending the wrong message by not allowing Matthews, who was a prominent, conservative-leaning host on KPRC (950 AM) and KSEV (700 AM) prior to his 2004 guilty plea to charges of indecency with a child, to appear with him on KPFT.

Indecency with a child? Conservative "leaning"?

Sounds to me like they did conservatives a favor.

“his 2004 guilty plea to charges of indecency with a child”

They lost me right there. There are some cases where this label is abused but its pretty difficult to overlook.

Once an individual has,in fact, engaged in "indecency with a child",he/she has nothing more to say that I wish to hear. But that's just me I suppose.

I thought it was anything goes with the progressive types at KPFT. Maybe not, if you’re a former right wing radio talk host & convicted felon.

And, if I recall correctly, this was not one of those cases where the phrase “indecency with a child” was abused. I believe this guy exposed himself to a 10-year old neighbor girl. Sick.

This guy is a lot of things. “Conservative” is not one of them. Good riddance.

"Various people had concerns," Bradley said. "One said that if a convicted sex offender was moving into their neighborhood they would know about it, so why, when a convicted sex offender was coming into their place of employment, was (the employee) hearing about it back channel?

"Also, (Matthews) has been a media person for a few decades, and there is some notoriety attached to him that transcends the average volunteer who works on the 'Prison Show.' "

Well folks make up your minds? Stealthy or notorious?

The new unforgivable sin, in a sense a pea in the same pod as the insistence by the left that once gay always gay.

The only Prison Show that Matthews should be on, is the prison show he puts on every night for his cellmate.

It should be clear from the story that he’d gotten a suspended three year sentence. When he did an unspecified no-no on his probation, which needn’t have been any sexual impropriety, he was obligated to serve the sentence. Now he’s out and nobody’s accused him of flashing any more young girls or of advocating for this.

We have the new unforgivable sin here.
