President Barack Obama says he'll fulfill his campaign promises once he wins, because Republicans won't be obsessed with beating him.
President Barack Obama cited a Republican "fever" as the reason why he hasn't been able to make progress on deficit reduction or immigration reform at a Minneapolis fundraiser today.
The remarks are one of Obama's sharpest Republican critiques equating their recent activism with illness and are sure to draw condemnation from the right.
From the pool report:
Most of the talk was standard campaign speech, but the president did say he hopes that Republicans will be more cooperative after he wins reelection.
"It will be coming to a head in this election. We're going to have as stark a contrast as we've seen in a very long time between the two candidates. 2008 was a significant election, obviously. But John McCain believed in climate change. John believed in campaign finance reform. He believed in immigration reform. There were some areas where you saw some overlap." "In this election, the Republican Party has moved in a fundamentally different direction. The center of gravity for their party has shifted."
He talked of deficit reduction and said "we couldn't' get them to take yes for an answer."

Over at DU no doubt they’re all saying:
“Yeah, Obama was reducing that deficit like gangbusters when Pelosi was Speaker- and passed terrific immigration reform too!”
TOTUS knows the IQ level of his audience...
nobama has some real twisted souls working for him to come up with something like this.
First it was blame Bush. That got tired and worn out. Now he blames his woes on a bunch of feverish Republicans. How hilarious!
I never thought I’d see a red diaper baby in the White House but here he is...
If gop is not cooperative, then its your fault obama. Show us your leadership skills and convince the House to your way of thinking OR compropmise YOUR principals with the house to get things done
Obama does have a point. I don’t recall the Democrats ever being obsessed with beating GWB. /sarc
(And no, I’m not insulting the intelligence of those who recognize sarcasm. The /sarc is for all those other people.)
I wonder who the people are who take what Obama says seriously.
That's sort of like what Obama told the Russians.
FUBO!
I think Obozo is toast come November. A couple die-hard Dims I know have been despondent lately, and they both said that it is inevitable that Obozo will lose. And both of them blame — get this! — Pelosi and Reid!!! They both said that Pelosi and Reid sabotaged Obozo and cut him off at the knees!!!
"Republican fever" goes back to at least 1789. If it's standing in the way of him "getting things done", then it's working as designed.
Yeah, get things done - watch this:

Obama is already so irrelevant that even the Dems in Congress are ignoring him. Assuming by some miracle that he wins a second term, he’ll likely face both a House and Senate controlled by Republicans. Other than rule by illegal executive order, a second Obama term will be pointless (which in this case is a GOOD thing.)
Everybody’s out of step but Bozo! When will this misery of a President be gone!
Responsibility and accountability is not a disease, disability or other disastrous malady.
So, I guess the beatings will continue until the morale improves, eh?
Graduating from Alinsky 101 to Odinga 213.
Yea, he is.
Sweat lodges. To purge the Demoncrats from the body politic. I like the idea.
