Gov. Rick Perry is once again slamming out-of-state interest groups backing former solicitor general Ted Cruz in his runoff with Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst this time tweaking Sarah Palin, U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint and Rick Santorum by suggesting their states could learn a lot from Texas, but Texas doesnt need their advice on choosing its next U.S. senator.
Perry, standing staunchly behind Dewhurst, brushed off the question about whether his own tea party credibility may be damaged by his opposition to Cruz, who has been endorsed by national conservative and tea party groups and figures (including Palin, DeMint and Santorum) in the runoff for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate.
[...]
Without naming Palin, DeMint or Santorum, Perry called them to mind by naming their states: I appreciate everybody paying attention to Texas as well they should, they could learn some things on how to run South Carolina and Pennsylvania and Alaska.
Come to Texas and learn how to do it right, but dont come down here and tell us who needs to be our next United States senator, thank you very much. Well decide that without your outside, Washington, D.C.-oriented help, Perry said.

Support for continuing as Lt. Gov. is different from support for a Senate Seat.
That’ll work.
If the cheerleader plays the game better than anybody, and I mean anybody, currently on the field? Oh, hell, yes.
Don’t blame Perry for not mincing words on this.
Texas has been well run and Dewhurst has been a good member of the crew responsible.
Nobody has shown me anything so wonderful about this Ted Cruz guy to make me change my vote to him.
And I’ve asked his supporters.
All they do is criticize Dewhurst for being ‘establishment’ or something. Well, it’s been a pretty good establishment if you ask me.
Against the tide?
You didn’t read the results? Dewhurst won more votes by far. Hard to get a majority in a 3/4 man race. He’ll win it easily in the runoff.
By the way, were I a Perry supporter, I’d be really, really careful about calling anybody stupid. Because your guy’s main contribution to the 2012 campaign was showing why the Aggie joke is Texas’ version of the Polish joke.
No, that isn’t worn out.
Some of us will never forget the vicious ugliness which you and your little band of sniveling idiots put upon Perry.
Don’t bother anyswering. I’ll never reply to you again.
Who was Alexander Graham Bellski?
Yep. And in exchange, Perry could show Palin how to complete a term as Governor.
Several in fact.
Uh, no. The fact that the Houston Chronicle endorsed Dewhurst should give you a clue.
Apparently nobody read the story. Perry didn’t attacked anyone and he didn’t mention Sarah’s name or anybody else’s.
But the people supporting Cruz are outsiders and none of them are from states doing as well or better than Texas.
Well said. Especially for those of us who are going to have difficult time in replacing Marxist Senators from our own state.
Great post.
The entire media in Texas has hated Rick Perry for years and they hate Dewhurst also.
The media just doesn’t like conservatives but they do like a fight ... something to write about.
I still haven’t seen anything about Cruz to make me vote for him over a proven and known conservative.
SShh! The Palinbots are really stirred.
gunner, it goes against all that is holy, but I gotta agree with you on that one !!!
