Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will endorse former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney Wednesday night, a source close to the Republican’s presidential campaign confirmed to the Fix.

Rice will throw her formal endorsement behind Romney in California, where he is attending fundraisers in the San Francisco area. Since leaving government, Rice has been teaching political science at Stanford University.

A little late perhaps but always welcome.

Couldn't hurt. Stanford connection can only help in Colleyforrnya. She might pull a few women, a few blacks, but mostly a marginal effect, imo.

For God’s sake, she voted for Obama in 2008. I can forgive some people for getting caught up in the hype 4 years ago, but not her. She should have known better, but she gave in to racial tribalism just like Colin Powell.

I agree. Rice was basically just a Bush croney. Throw her back in and cast again.

Little late to the party aren’t ya Condi?

Who else would you endorse?

She could have endorsed the guy she voted for in 2008--Barack Obama.

How about a nice speech from Condi explaining why she’s dropped 0 in favor of Mitt?

Each to his/her own, but I would mind. I think she would be a horrible choice. The main reason, she’s nowhere near Conservative.

>> WOW! What a stunning, brave decision, going out on a limb like that....um, oh wait, didn’t Mittens clinch the nomination last night? Never mind. <<

Yes, but going by the standards the libs set for Obama when he endorsed gay marriage once his gay base forced his hand (liberal talking heads were falling all over themselves gushing how "brave" and "courageous" he was), it is now a "stunning, brave decision" when a GOP establishment figure endorses the defacto GOP nominee.

George W. Bush's endorsement of Romney (after everyone dropped out) likewise fit the Obama pattern of a "brave, courageous" move.

Well, duh. RINO endorses RINO about the time he formally locks up the Republican nomination. What would surprise me is if she had endorsed Ron Paul.

To be fair, she COULD have endorsed the guy she voted for last time (and Colin's probably STILL mulling over endorsing him again!):

Good!

People need to face reality, that the alternative to Romney is Obama, and a 2nd term of Obama will be a catastrophe of unappreciated magnitude to this country and our freedom.

I’m sorry but I respectfully disagree. Rice would be the worst pick, IMO. She is anti-Israel. And she was not a good Sec. of State.

And she's a Pro-Abortionist. She does play the piano well, but so does KeyBoard Cat. I'd be more likely to support KeyBoard Cat as a VP pick than I would Rice.

Exactly. The Romney haters had better wake up and face reality. Obama is an evil, avowed enemy of the United States and they can’t deny that.

Good point. Why is it that success and ability in life is so often defined in the context of academic qualification and interpreted ‘intelligence’?

My mother, from a working class background with a poor education is easily the most intelligent person I know...biased as I may be, I was bought up in the opposite environment and am fairly well educated.

It is more often snivelling elitist leftists that define class and suitability based on itelligence, or more grades to the point. This is a nonsense.

The best business and political leaders aren’t necessarily the most ‘educated’, they are clear thinking, common sense, considered thinkers. This is something you simply can’t teach.

Of course this is not to say those of an especially well educated background can’t be magnificent in any given field.

I’ve never believed in the Condi Rice hype. Overated based on background, a nice women but history will quickly forget her.

She’s already stated she isn’t interested in running for elected office. At least according to Foxnews this morning.

I’m not a Romney fan, but Dr. Rice is a RINO Arabist. I dispose all she stands for, especially her Obama vote.

I think she waited to see if O would give her a Medal of Freedom, along with Colin Bowell as the first Af-Am tag team at State. Instead he honored Half-Bright. Last time she and Powell both went with the Brothur. Hopefully they have come to their senses, as they watch the twighlight’s last gleaming.

Our choices at the National level are Liberal (prog/commie) Democrat or Moderate Liberal Democrat with a “R”.

She makes a lot of sense in the New World Disorder as a consideration as VP in a Republican Admin.
The GOP-e probably believe Rice would seal the deal and bring about 16 years of Rino rule.
In reality it is a opportunity for someone even more nuts than Obama to get back in in another 4 years.
Especially if they don’t knock it (economy/downward spiral) out of the park.
In my not so humble oppinion.
