HURON COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
A 911 call for assistance following a disagreement in Huron County actually resulted in six illegal aliens being taken into custody.
The Huron County Sheriff says 911 central dispatch received a call just before 10 a.m. Wednesday requesting an ambulance on M-142 near Moore road in Oliver Township.
When a sheriff's deputy arrived to assist the ambulance, the deputy found that there was no need for an ambulance. Instead, he said he found six Mexican men near the roadway who had been working for an out-of-state construction company at a nearby grain elevator construction project.
Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson said apparently the six men had had a disagreement with the onsite construction supervisor, quit their jobs and were in need of transportation [so they called an ambulance]. Hanson said the situation was remedied when deputies took them into custody.
The men are now scheduled to rendezvous with federal officials for deportation processing.
Illegal-aliens-story-with-a-happy-ending PING
Our local hospital emergency room is overrun with illegals who use it as their regular doctor’s office.
And it’s not unusual for them to call ambulances for anything from a splinter to a common cold.
They don’t care. They’re not picking up the tab.
How poetic?
When my daughters were college shopping, my oldest daughter fell off some steps, landed on her wrist and we had to take her to the local ER (Virginia) to make sure it was sprained, not broken.
They wouldn't even see her until Dad pulled out the insurance card and made a co-pay.
Meanwhile, a likely illegal with a minor ailment pointed to a sign in Spanish. A translator was immediately summoned and the member of the favored class was rushed right in ahead of my daughter without producing an insurance card, a co-pay, or a single document.
We had just heard about a new hospital opening up in town and decided to see if that ER was open. It was, and we were the only ones there. Took about 2 minutes to get processed in, she saw a doctor within 4 minutes and we were on our way home by 1AM.
A few simple reforms could eliminate the problem of illegals abusing our emergency rooms.
1) Require hospitals to give medical care (emergency or otherwise) ONLY to those who can prove U.S. residency or that they are from a nation that has agreed to reimburse the hospital for 100% of medical expenses incurred by their nationals.
This would eliminate the argument that we need to be “compassionate”. If Mexico, Ecuador or France is unwilling to pay for medical care for its citizens abroad, then why should Americans feel any responsiblity to do so? It would be the foreign nations that “lack compassion”, not the USA.
2) Make ER abuse a felony.
3) Make it mandatory for hospitals that receive government funds (including Medicare and Medicaid)to verify the immigration status of all patients and report any suspected illegals immediately.
3) Put ICE agents outside every ER in areas with high concentrations of illegals.
Excellent points!
You must be a racist or something. Just shut up and pay more!
ANOTHER ONE NABBED——A Jamaican immigrants-—a live-in housekeeper who had a $50,000 credit card limit-—was collecting food stamps, cash assistance and Medicaid benefits, according to the NY state countys Department of Social Services.
She was working as the Westchester DA’s housekeeper when she was suddenly approved for welfare benefits after having been previously denied three times for inconsistencies in her applications, The NY Post reported.
She was getting SS benefits and apparently never paid into SS.
