The Justice Department announced today that it will monitor primary elections on May 29, 2012, in Fort Bend, Harris and Jefferson Counties in Texas, to ensure compliance with the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and other federal voting rights statutes. The Voting Rights Act prohibits discrimination in the election process on the basis of race, color or membership in a minority language group. In addition, the act requires certain covered jurisdictions to provide language assistance during the election process.

Can/t wait to see what the Governor of Texas has to say about this.

Well, lookit this. Houstonians need to scream it from the rooftops that the DOJ will be at every polling place.

The fact that they don’t care about absentee and early tells me the fix is IN for those three areas.

Eric Holder just hates Republican voting Texas. Think he’d like to put a fence around our state and declare us an enemy nation - you know, all these legal guns and preppers down here who have several Bibles in the house.

Every state office holder is a Republican and we have the majority in the Texas House and Senate.

Ya’ll come down and visit this freedom state. Holder can stay in Washington. We don’t need his liberal kind down here.

Holder:

“Forget uniformed Black Panthers wielding weapons at polling places; we are more concerned about fabricating infractions to intimidate Republican states.”

The Sheriff of each of these counties should announce that they will be personally monitoring the Just-us Dept.folks—you know, so they don’t step on a fire ant hill or sumthin’.

Ahh, we have Texas Rangers and they wouldn’t take kindly to anyone crossing the distance marker at polling places. Maybe the governor will have a talk with our Rangers.

There’s a saying about Texas Rangers - “One riot, one Ranger.”

True story: My husband in a wheelchair faced down the Black Pathers with hoods over their faces and carrying shotguns.

He was a Texas Republican county chair and we were at the Republican state convention in Houston. Due to a bone problem, he couldn’t walk those long distances so we had a motorized wheelchair for him.

We came back from lunch one day and went through a small park in front of the convention center to get to the front door. I went ahead of him and went inside the building.

He was still on the path and approaching the street to cross to get in the building. Black Panthers with hoods and shotguns surrounded him, preventing him from crossing the walkway. Now, Bill had on a cap that said, “Jail To The Chief” (Clinton was president).

Well, Bill started shaking his finger at the Panthers and yelling at them they shouldn’t have shotguns and hoods and to get out.

Police across the street just stood there, did nothing. News cameras started rolling. They had locked down the building and I couldn’t get out - I would have beaten them to death for messing with my husband.

So, it was a stand off. A not large man, a Texas Ranger, crossed the street into the Panthers and told them to get out of Bill’s way and leave that area.

They did - one problem, one Ranger.

That night, Bill in his wheelchair with his cap was shown on TV, surrounded by Panthers while he was yelling at them to leave.

That story about Bill and the Panthers is still told among Republicans. Bill died last August.

I bet the DOJ just didn’t think far enough ahead to hire bodies for early voting.

Strange.
The Justice Dept did not seem concerned when armed Black Panthers intimidated voters in Philadelphia.

It could be worse. The U.N. could decide to send monitors.

“...minority language group” So, if we’re white, then it’s o.k. for the Black Panthers to intimidate us at the polling place as long as we speak English; huh?

Dress rehearsal for the general election in November.

It isn't about white voters. It's about white poll watchers and election judges/alternate judges.
