Dallas-based pizza chain, Pizza Patron, is giving away free pepperoni pizzas to customers who order their pies in Spanish.
the company says is a way to reach out to and build their already largely-Latino clientele, is sparking outrage.
Marcela Gomez, president of Hispanic Marketing Group, a Latino marketing firm in Nashville, told USA Today that "maybe they thought it was a cute thing to do, but I think it's discrimination."
In a press release announcing the promotion, which has been dubbed 'Pizza Por Favor,' the company said the pizza promo is an effort to promote the "positive force of change immigrants have made..
In 2007, the company adopted another attention-grabbing marketing strategy that is still raising eyebrows: Pizza Patron started accepting Mexican pesos for payment.

“Just start a rumor that ICE has tapped into the pizza places phone lines to help track down illegal immigrants. Problem solved”
CNN is reporting, the delivery people are part of an on-going multi-agency immigration task force operation.
“As long as they’re a private company, I don’t care.
I hope that ALL their customers speak Spanish and get a free pizza....”
Me either. I’m a white boy but I am here in North Texas and I habla a little Espanol. I’m going to be eating me some free pizza soon....
Many businesses along the southern border accept pesos and others along the northern border accept Canadian money. Nothing new here and depending upon the exchange rate the profits can increase. Walmart, H-E-B, Circle K, etc.
Spanish speakers get all kinds of free stuff in Texas. Nothing new.
I suspect it will be worth every penny.
This is unreal. I once accidentally gave a Canadian dime to a store clerk in CA and she refused it.
I have absolutely no idea what your talking about.
Be careful how you pronounce "pizza" in Spanish. They may think you're a gay ranchero. :o)
It’s their money, let them do what they want.
Free pizzas and exchanging pesos at a bank (fee tacked on) seems like a losing deal, though.
Bet they'd settle for some beads and shiny trinkets now. Next time wear a turban, speak in Arabic with a Spanish accent and you'll probably get the door prize.
Pizza Patron has been doing this for over a year. They’ll accept pesos from anyone who pays with it.
It’s better that the pesos are spent here than in Mexico.
The converse? You mean people who don’t speak Spanish have to give a pizza to this shop?
Yes! Exactly! How else are they going to have pizzas to give out???!?
Good solid Americans are consistantly getting the shaft while illegal aliens and government lackeys flaunt their disregard for everything American.
Our government will not do it's duty. When we vote in new blood, they quickly morph into some form unrecognizable from the being we voted for. The government, I feel, is leaving us no choice.
"Occupy" types get noisy and wreak havoc and they always, without exception, get what they want. Conservatives sit at keyboards and type. You don't have to have a PhD to figure this out.

Sorry for the dupe; had a spelling error and hit ‘post’ instead of ‘preview’.
Show up with Uruguayan or Philippine Pesos, and see what they do...
“But the sign says you accept Pesos, right?”
Well, I won’t be as blunt as you, but will say I am confident this government sponsored disaster at every level, which is driving all this madness, will not be fixed by traditional means.
