Student defends criticism of Obama after being berated by teacher (photo included)

He wanted to "laugh" when he heard the teacher suggest he could be arrested for criticizing a sitting president.

"Honestly, at the time I wanted to laugh at her, because I've been taught all my life that nobody can take your opinion," He said he knew that it takes an actual threat against the president, not just criticism, to be arrested.

"(The teacher) doesn't want to hear anything but what she believes, and ... if you disagree, you get berated and put down," Rogers said. "I just decided to finally get some proof of it."

"Didn't Obama bully somebody though?" a student in the North Carolina classroom asked when the report was brought up, referring to an incident Obama described in his memoir "Dreams From My Father." In the book, Obama wrote that, as a child, he once pushed a female classmate after other students taunted them

The teacher, in the video, said she didn't know whether Obama bullied anyone -- but the argument quickly escalated, as the teacher yelled at the student, telling him "there is no comparison."

"He's running for president," she said of Romney. "Obama is the president."

The teacher later said: "Do you realize that people were arrested for saying things bad about Bush?"

The student told the teacher that someone can't be arrested "unless you threaten the president."

The Salisbury Post reported Monday that district school officials suspended the teacher in the course of their investigation into the incident.

Rogers' mother Gina told Fox News she was "shocked" when she heard the tape. She said her son had told stories about the classroom arguments, but she didn't realize they were this "extreme."

"I don't feel the teacher should have started a political discussion if she wasn't willing to hear both sides," she said.

Yes Ms Numbskull was rewarded with a paid suspension meaning a paid vacation. In the dreaded private sector a suspension is unpaid. This is why incompetent slugs love gov’t sector jobs.

Would that this incident was really rare! What brought this to public attention was the gutsy student who managed to record the incompetent teacher/bully. Let us hope that this causes a rash of these recordings to wake people up to how our youth are being deliberately misinformed, and led astray.

We all saw the eventual result in the youth attending Obama rallies in 2008, cheering in staccato tones, like the automatons in the Nuremberg stadium in 1934, for the demagogue in charge.

It’s summertime, school is out. Most teachers are on a ten-month contract, paid over 12 months. This “suspension” is on paper only.

This teacher should be fired, Forget this incident, if you listen to the tape she has lost (or never had )control of her class.
As a retired teacher,I have witnessed this happen to many a inexperienced teachers. They go into the classroom with the intention of being a “cool” teacher and their friend.
If you don't take command of the room the 1st day you may never get it back again.
I had my “first Day speech”.. I would say, It's my job to prepare you for the real world. There are a few rules I will totally enforce.
1. No student will prevent another student from learning.
2. There are no “stupid” questions, and no laughing at others questions.
3. I will treat each one of you like young adults, however if you insist I can “Do the snotty nosed third grader sit in a corner thing”
