Arizona's secretary of state said Friday he had asked officials in Hawaii to verify that Barack Obama was born in their state in order for the president's name to appear on the November ballot in Arizona.
Ken Bennett, who is Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's campaign co-chairman in Arizona, said he made the request on behalf of a constituent.
Earlier this year, hardline Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio announced that an investigation by his office had found that Obama's birth certificate was a forgery.
Most Republican critics of Obama have given up pushing widely discredited long-running allegations that he was not born in the United States.
Bennett said he is attempting to confirm that Obama's name can appear on Arizona's presidential ballot, the Arizona Republic newspaper said.
While confirming on Friday that he had made the request, Bennett said he did not buy into the "birther" belief.
"First, I have been on the record since 2009 that I believe the president was born in Hawaii. I am not a 'birther,'" he said in a statement.
"At the request of a constituent, I asked the state of Hawaii for a for a verification in lieu of certified copy. We're merely asking them to officially confirm they have the president's birth certificate in their possession and are awaiting their response," he said.

Since there is no birth certificate in existence, this request is actually the perfect approach. Someone in the state of Hawaii would have to risk being charged with misprision of treason if they can be proven a liar about this. Remember, they do not know what evidence the posse has in it's possession. In my opinion, this seemingly simple, reasonable request is a trap. A brilliant one.
That is a wild assertion not backed by a single fact. Indeed, we are now seeing our first official push-back, with a secretary of state finally asking for some paperwork backing the Kenyan usurper's claim of natural born citizenship.

There you have it folks. Rush has given obomba his seal of approval. Hawaii will parrot what they've been "saying" all along and at no time will anyone have to prove of disprove anything obomba has said or done.
I have to say... The whole global conspiracy reeks to high heaven on both sides of the isle. I'm becoming more and more convinced that there really is no difference in either side's objectives especially after listening to rush yesterday poo-pooing all the evidence about obomba that's been coming out the last couple of months. What's he afraid of? And to have the nerve to ask why "most Americans" have never heard about obomba's drug use, homosexuality, place of birth, etc. is outrageous. Rush... like all the main stream press has either completely ignored all the evidence and refused to vet obomba or treated those that have been vetting and exposing obomba like citizens of Roswell in 1948.
And sean hannity is even worse. That little weasel runs around pretending like he's been sounding the alarm all along when in fact, he, like rush has been in the obomney camp all along.

You would think that after all the hassle this Administration has put Arizona through, the least their Sec of State could do in response is ban Obama from the ballot until and unless overwhelming proof of natural-born citizenship can be established.
If any state should be experts on immigration and naturalization by now, it would be Arizona. Maybe the good sherrif oughta arrest Obama under suspicion of being an illegal alien if he ever sets foot in the state? Naw... that would be too good.

If Arizona took the case directly to the SCOTUS under original jurisdiction then arguably Sotomayor and Kagan would have to recuse themselves as a decision for ineligibility would nullify their appointments. ;-)
