The number of radical hate groups and militias has exploded in recent years in reaction to the changing makeup of America, and new census figures showing the majority of babies born in 2011 were non-white could fuel those simmering tensions, experts who track hate groups warned.
"White supremacist groups have been having a meltdown since the census bureau predicted that non-Hispanic whites would lose the majority by 2050," said Mark Potok, spokesman for the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups. "The demographic change in this country is the single most important driver in the growth of hate groups and extremist groups over the last few years."
The data released this week revealed a tipping point in the country's demographic shift. For the first time in the country's history, more minority children were born than white children, setting the stage for an eventual non-white majority in America's population.

strange how with all this supposedly going on whites are still statistically 8 times more likely to be victimized by black criminals than blacks by white criminals.
Could it be that the media is missing some part of the story? (and deliberately, I expect)
It’s suspect to just say that this wave of immigration will turn out fine just like the past waves because there are so many differences between then and now.
Perhaps the biggest difference between then and now that just destroys the ‘we’ve been here before’ argument is that all of the past waves came to an end! Congress passed a series of restrictive laws in the 1920s that cut off mass immigration, and then followed over 40 years of low-moderate levels of immigration. It was during this time (complete with the unifying experience of WW2) that the Irish, Italians, etc were brought into the mainstream of American society.
There is nothing similar on the horizon. This current wave will not end on its own. It will take action from Congress, and there is little hope of that happening. And so long as annual levels of immigration remain high it’s a safe bet that immigrant communities will remain solidly Democratic.

And while there is nothing we can do about the proximity of Latin America, we can certainly restrict future immigration. I just can’t see conservative ideas ever winning out with Hispanic and Asian communities while those communities are rapidly growing.

Hate groups are like arsenic levels in drinking water. The "growth" is probably from something like 1 ppm to 3 ppm. In other words, they continue to be completely marginal and meaningless.
Whites need to have a lot more babies, the birth rate is pitiful and in most of the U.S. and all of Europe below the replacement level of 2.1 children per woman.
Europeans as a race are going to become extinct if this continues, certantly every family line of us that chooses not to have a “large” family.
The SPLC is a hate group.

Frankly this birth rate issue has left a sinking feeling in my stumic for the last 10-15 years. As long as I’ve known about it and my inability to come up with a solution is like this.
Look at the numbers, we Europeans are declining on our way to extinction. What could possibly be a worse fate than that?
Yet western whites continue to produce smaller and smaller families? Are we trying to genetically kill ourselves off? How is it that an entire civilization of people can be come sursidel?
Perhaps more importantly how do we fix this problem before there are no more of us to fix any problem?
I'm sure it's not worded that way. We have to get rid of unfair legal protections.
Yup, I don't know if it's ever been so hard to raise children in particular. It's definitely a struggle.
If whites don’t start having pride in their own accomplishments throughout the centuries, the world will lose a great deal in terms of knowledge and civilization.
Ya know, what race the babies are who are being born today are was not on my list of top 10,000 things to worry about.
What sort of values they are being taught does rank very high on that list.
I’m with you. I’d sooner be the only one of my race in a society that successfully teaches it’s children to adhere to judeo-christian principles than the garbage we have now.
