An aide to the billionaire whom political advisers say wanted to fund TV ads about President Barack Obama's former pastor says the $10 million proposal will not go forward.
The New York Times reported Thursday that a group tied to TD Ameritrade founder Joe Ricketts was considering an ad campaign featuring Jeremiah Wright's incendiary sermons.
But an aide to Ricketts issued a statement later in the day saying the proposal would not be implemented.

Hummmmmm....just ^how did^ the media get wind of this “proposal”, I wonder.
Does the PAC send out a news-release for every brainstorm they get?
“Nice brokerage firm yuz got here. Shame for something to happen to it.”
This ad buy has ALREADY had the desired effect, people are thinking of “Rev” Wright again. And Ricketts did not have to spend ANY money. Win-Win!
It sounds like the media work is done, so this could be loaded up quickly if they change their minds. It may not be a bad thing right now because the Wright Obama link is getting press as a result, plus the Klein book.
I don’t know...
Just the very fact that GD Wright is forefront in the news these days is happy news indeed.
The fact that the Romney campaign said they WON’T use Rev. God D*mn as a campaign tool is making news and is reaching the desired effect against Obastard.
So, there won’t be TV commercials with Wright’s smiling face? Whatever. As long as that makes news - It’s All Good.
DING !!!
WE HAVE A WINNER, FOLKS!
Nice brokerage firm yuz got here. Shame for something to happen to it.
That, and the threatened lib protests at Cubs Games.
So what would this ad say?
“Remember Wright? You know from 4 years ago during the 2008 election? Yeah, Obama totally went to his church. Remember hearing about that?
What does that have to do with now? Well, we just wanted to tell you again. thanks!”
Ok, then what? After we are screaming that the issue is the economy, we are going to run ads about this guy?
It was leaked by a “concerned person” per NY Times.
You can actually do both.
Do you think that even though these ads won’t air, the fact that the whole Wright controversy is making it’s way through the media is still a negative for Obummer & positive for us?
I mean, we all know about Wright/O but the fact that the MSM is mentioning his name at all is maybe a good thing & in some way, will lead some to find out what the whole controversy is about?
Or am I giving too much credit to the sheeple?!
I never thought this was such a great idea. A better attack would be Obama’s acts as president, such as his connection to the funding of solar energy companies. A lot of good information is coming out that could be bought to the attention of the voters.
Don't worry, their are going to be hundreds of well funded super pacs this time around and some WILL run these type of ads whether the Romney campaign likes it or not.
A question for those in the know. Does Obama have off shore accounts that he’s trying to hide?
I can't see Evangelicals rushing to vote for Romney because of this...in fact, refusing to use Wright's blasphemy is more likely to make the EVs begin to put two and two together.
Looks like the PAC has some soul searching to do with regards to who it employs. Searching for a “concerned” soul would be a good start.
Exactly my thoughts! Now he can spend the $10 mill on ads about the economy, and if Zero's minions attack Romney about LDS, well....
“Ok, then what? After we are screaming that the issue is the economy, we are going to run ads about this guy?”
So many people on here are more interested in making Obama pay a price for dealing with Wright, and his past. They don’t have an answer for “what is next”.
Its the economy, the economy and the economy. Don’t fall for spurious side issues. Wright was 2008, when Obama didn’t have a record. Now he does have a record and a very vulnerable one, lets hammer him on it until the election.
