Media Pundit Named in Jesse Jackson Lawsuit
Tamara Holder, a Fox News contributor, is accused of having an affair with Jesse Jackson, Sr. in a lawsuit that alleges the illegal use of a gay Jackson employee to facilitate the relationship.
The accuser, Tommy R. Bennett, was Jackson’s personal travel assistant and ran the legal clinic at Jackson’s organization, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition. He says he was eventually fired for protesting his treatment by Jackson and other PUSH employees and is seeking hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages.
Holder has not responded to repeated requests for comment from Accuracy in Media, but Jackson’s press representative, Lauren Love, says the allegations are false and will be proven so.
Bennett attorney Thomas V. Leverso says that Jackson and PUSH have been stonewalling a legal response for many months but that investigations and the case are moving forward. Leverso tells Accuracy in Media that witnesses have come forward to verify the allegations against Jackson.
Jackson, a minister and Democratic politician who served as an aide to Martin Luther King, Jr., suffered a major embarrassment in 2010 when he admitted to an extramarital affair that produced an illegitimate child.
Bennett worked for Jackson for more than two years and was known as “Aruba Tommy” on local Chicago radio station WVON. The lawsuit alleges that Bennett was subjected to “humiliating tasks” because he was a homosexual, such as “escorting women to his [Jackson’s] hotel room” and then being ordered to clean up after Jackson had sexual intercourse with them.
One of those women, the suit claims, was Tamara Holder, a pundit and criminal defense attorney who claims she “single-handedly” founded what she calls “a pro bono legal clinic at Rev. Jesse L. Jackson’s Rainbow PUSH Coalition.”

According to the complaint, as Jackson’s travel assistant, Bennett says, he was “subjected to humiliating tasks.
“It was well known (Tamara) Holder was a mistress of Rev. Jackson. As Rev. Jackson’s travel assistant, Mr. Bennett had been to Ms. Holder’s apartment with Rev. Jackson and was told to wait in the car while he went into her apartment.”
According to the lawsuit, in 2008, Bennett says, he was accused “of faxing a letter to the Jackson family from Kinkos at 2 a.m. informing them of the affair between Rev. Jackson and Ms. Holder.”
But Bennett responds in the legal docs, “After Rainbow Push did a thorough investigation of the letter, they found out that the letter came from Judge Vanessa Hobson, who was another mistress of Rev. Jackson.”
According to Bennett’s 10-page complaint, Jackson “summoned” him to his room at the O’Hare Hilton in May 2008, and told him “to clean up and pack his things after he had spent the night with Ms. Holder.”
Bennett says Jackson flew to New York that day, where, upon arrival, he again was summoned to Jackson’s room, where Jackson told him “that he had a rash between his legs. Rev. Jackson instructed Mr. Bennett to go to the drug store to purchase a prescription.”
The complaint continues in lurid detail: “Mr. Bennett picked up the prescription and brought it back to his room. Rev. Jackson was wearing white brief underwear and instructed Mr. Bennett to apply the cream on his inner thigh. Mr. Bennett refused. Rev. Jackson became very angry and called Mr. Bennett a ‘little mother**ker.’”
In another explicit paragraph, Bennett claims that after fetching Cialis (a male performance enhancement drug) to Jackson at dinner, at the O’Hare Hilton, Jackson “summoned” him to his room at 1 a.m. “to take notes.”
