Making History: WH Ridiculed on Twitter for Altering Presidential Biography Pages
http://www.theblaze.com ^

It was reported yesterday that the White House has “amended” the biography of nearly every U.S. president of the past century, adding a “Did you know?” section at the end where they tied former presidents’ accomplishments to those of president Obama.

At the bottom of Reagan’s biography, for instance, the White House tried to plug the “Buffett Rule.”  Did you know, it asks, that “In a June 28, 1985 speech Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multi-millionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary. Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule.”

The Calvin Coolidge connection is no less far-fetched.  “On Feb. 22, 1924 Calvin Coolidge became the first president to make a public radio address to the American people. President Coolidge later helped create the Federal Radio Commission, which has now evolved to become the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).   President Obama became the first president to hold virtual gatherings and town halls using Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, etc,” it explains.

While the adjustments don’t reach back as far as Woodrow Wilson, only a modest link to FDR is mentioned: “On August 14, 1935, President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act.  Today the Obama Administration continues to protect seniors and ensure Social Security will be there for future generations.”

The move is drawing ridicule in conservative circles, even inspiring a Twitter hashtag, #ObamaInHistory, that started trending worldwide.

Here are some of the best we found:

@stevenfhayward: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth. And President Obama was there to say it was good. #obamainhistory

@huds_d: In Greek mythology, Narcissus gazed into a pond and saw Obama’s face #obamainhistory

@JohnSantorelli: Christopher Columbus discovered the New World in 1492 and Obama was there to apologize and bow to the natives. #ObamaInHistory

@CuffyMeh: In 1803, Jefferson bought the Louisiana Purchase for $233 million in today’s dollars, which Obama spent while you read this. #ObamaInHistory

@EthanMyers007: 30,000 Americans died on the Oregon Trail due to lack of health insurance. #ObamaInHistory

@iowahawkblog: #Obamainhistory Washington could not tell a lie, Nixon could not tell the truth, Obama can’t tell the difference

@red_red_head: Obama assured Henry Ford the Volt would be a great idea, but Ford wasn’t sold on the idea of exploding vehicles. #ObamaInHistory

‏@AllanRofer: Prior presidencies are merely the canvas upon which Obama’s administration masterpiece is writ. #ObamaInHistory

@syruss: If you can’t have good history, why not rewrite [others'?] #ObamaInHistory

The Republican National Committee similarly summarized: “Obama in History — World Changing Events You Didn’t Know Obama Played A Part In.”

But White House defended its actions, saying: “No biographies have been altered…We simply added links at the bottom of each page to related whitehouse.gov content, which is a commonly used best practice to encourage people to browse more pages on a site.”

How can you add something, without altering the original?  And it’s clearly not just an effort to encourage people to “browse more pages.”

“Each one finds a way to tout an Obama administration policy or practice in the process,” Fox describes.

But this isn’t surprising to anyone who has followed presidential politics…After all, Barack knows that “we’re going to have to change our traditions, [and] our history.”

Washington crossed the Potomac...did you know that President Obama has crossed the Potomac more times in his first term than Washington did in his entire life?

I finally went to the whitehouse.gov website, and it’s truly amazing. Obama even has notes at the end of the GWB entry. Check this one out from Nixon’s:

“In 1973, Richard Nixon created The President’s Export Council, which was expanded and reconstituted under President Jimmy Carter in 1979. Today the PEC continues to work towards reaching President Obama’s goal of doubling the nation’s exports by 2014’s end.”

The national Archives announced today it has discovered a long lost reel of WW2 footage showing US President Barack Obama personally deflecting the nuclear blast that struck Osaka following the attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Following the blast, the DNC, in cooperation with CBS/NBC/ABC and the fledgling Japanese communication industry showed their patriotism by suppressing all traces of the heroic gesture by Obama until they felt the world was ready to know the truth. Today’s revelation in no way coincides with Obama’s sudden drop in the polls following his coming out in Newsweek as the first gay President.

My brilliant plan to undermine Obama as a laughingstock is working.

He makes it easy. Many people refuse to think critically about him and his merry band of Communists, but EVERYONE will laugh at a good joke.

Sucks to ‘be’ that good joke.

On a side note, House Majority John Boneher announced an investigation into famed insurer Loyyds of London today after it was revealed that insurance rates for the American Kennel Club’s Washington DC show would be raised for the remainder of the Obama presidency.

The way conservatives have responded on Twitter to the Obama campaign has been particularly effective. This is one, rare, instance where conservatives have completely out-flanked the liberals on social media.

The key is to use humor. Liberals hate it when people laugh at them.

Does BHO’s narcissism have no limits? This will not help him. Even Boe Beckle on The Five pointed that out!
It’s pathetic and his handlers either beilieve this crap or they have given up on a second term and are just placating the ass wipe and his hideous wife.

Very true.

Silence by our side is the #1 reason the lobs control the game. Situations like this prove conclusively WE have the power. We are just too meek/indifferent most of the time to use it.

The libs own the media, but it’s useless to them when we fight back. Libs are cowards. Without an MSM backup they have nothing.

Obama is an emotionally sick, pathetic, person with deep seeded low self-esteem problems that he continually tries to overcome by acting with audacity and unwarranted pride. Now he is trying to validate his life by riding on the coat-tails of others who actually accomplished something.

Even if his "staffers" and campaign people did this, or thought it up, Obama had to approve it. It had to be done to boost his ego, which is probably low or lower than it was when they rushed to pass the Health Care bill through Congress to perk him up. His accomplishment list as president is void of anything significant, positive, or successful, so they needed to really stretch their imaginations in finding some way to promote him. And this is the best they could come up with??? LOL

Truly this is an act of desperation.

But, I must add my contribution to his "achievements." Many presidents are recognized for having kept dogs in the White House and loving their loyal companions. Obama is recalled for eating them.
