OMAHA, Neb. - The Associated Press has projected Deb Fischer as the winner of the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate.
Most of the evening, Jon Bruning maintained a lead over Fischer; however, during the 9 p.m. hour, the lead switched in favor of Fischer.
Just under 6,000 votes separated the top two candidates when the Associated Press called the race.

This is starting to get exciting now.
Oh my goodness, can you imagine the heads exploding on TV on election night if it is even 1/2 as good as 2010?
Oh my goodness, my goodness.

Ehhhh...not really. I’m from Nebraska and a volunteer for Fischer. Things weren’t looking good two weeks ago when Bruning had a 10+ point lead with endorsements, money and the GOPe behind his back.
Many were afraid that Fischer and Stenberg would split the anti-Bruning vote. Deb was on a shoestring budget and wasn’t campaigning as early as the other two (she’s in the legislature and the Unicameral session didn’t end until April).
When Sarah endorsed, it was like gas on a campfire. Out of nowhere, I got buzzed, tweeted, Facebooked and emailed by my buds asking how they can help/donate. She surged and won in the stretched.
Yes, there were other factors as well, but this victory owes a lot to Palin Power.

Why doesn’t Palin get out of politics, she’s irrelevant and has no influence whatsoever. /s

Did you not get the memo? Plenty of people here on FR informed me and others that SP was no longer a political concern. The article/news we are discussing therefor did not happen, ergo there is no need for them to spin anything.
I think you would be upsetting those people if you were to imply that SP had anything to do with this victory. She was, afterall, only in it for the money as I was told. ;)

That is one HELL of a pee-poor endorsement!Yep, thanks for pointing that out. I guess I was thinking of Mitch Daniels' very classy endorsement of Mourdock. Anyway, Lugar's sour grapes concession speech was indeed disgusting. I mean, Lugar didn't just get edged in the primary - - he got buried. And he still doesn't get it.

My group,
Stand With Arizona is thrilled with the results thus far. We endorsed Deb Fischer because of Brunings disgraceful support for Eric Holder and former La Raza radical Thomas Perez at DOJ - even now after all theyve done against Arizona, Texas and S.C. On Voter ID, and against Sheriff Joe. We sent out emails to our 11,000 Nebraska members on Sunday and want to congratulate Deb Fischer! [and THANK YOU, Sarah Palin!]

As of yet, he won nothing yet. But his lying about Newt and his campaign money got him this far.

Thanks for the background info. I’m sure Norseman is happy to receive that info, also.

I know.
And cutting tax rates don’t increase revenues. And regulations increase business. And unemployment compensation checks create jobs.
