Two female students say they were not allowed to attend Lexington Catholic High School's prom as a couple Saturday night, upsetting a number of students at the school.
Hope Decker, 18, a senior, and sophomore Tiffany Wright, 16, had already gotten their dresses for the event, but Friday afternoon they were told by school administrators they could not attend as a couple because of the church's stance on same-sex relationships, Wright said.
In an email Sunday, Lexington Catholic president Steve Angelucci said, "As a Catholic high school, we uphold every teaching of the Catholic Church. The policies and procedures of our school reflect those teachings."
When the couple tried to enter the school's gymnasium, where the prom was held, they were turned away, so Wright said they held their own prom in the school's parking lot.
"I would understand and respect the school's decision if they truly upheld church teachings," Wright said Sunday night. "They didn't forbid the entrance of all the couples who've had premarital sex and all the kids who planned to get drunk after the prom."

Well kids, you can’t tell by looking at someone if they are having sex. And if they come to the prom sober, they aren’t violating the conditions to be at the prom. We do not live in a pre-crime world and if we did, we may not have any proms at all, and you gay kids would be real happy about that, not having a VEHICLE TO SHOVE IT IN THE REST OF THE KIDS AND SCHOOL’S FACES.
If everyone knows you are gay, and you are planning to attend a prom at a catholic school and everyone’s aware of it, it isn’t the same thing. You aren’t even TRYING to be discreet or embarrased about your sins. You want to flaunt it and have everyone’s approval. Commandeering a prom to make your own attention-whore statement.
Future Hasbians.
High Schools and Colleges are filled with them.
Lesbian Until Graduation
And these girls, if it’s an Irish Catholic school, well, chances are you’re not allowed into the prom unless if you haven’t been drinking.
/sarc had to get it in
scratch the “unless”. Wow, and I’m not drinking either.
I googled “what is a lug” and it didn’t help. Just after I asked that question, I added the word “sex” to my search and got more than I needed. ;-)
Don’t Unitarian Churches have schools?
Good catch.
I wonder who put them up to this?
>As a Catholic high school, we uphold every teaching of the Catholic Church.<
.
Take note, Notre Dame, Fordham, Boston College and other Catholic institutions of higher learning.
Or try.
“These gals trying to attend a Catholic prom together as a couple are obviously, in your face, sinners. Public sinners call out for public sanctions. There is also a matter of the seriousness of the sin. I don’t believe drinking after a prom is equal to homosexual acts.
Good for the school for standing up for the teachings they agreed to impart to all students when their parents chose to send them to the school.”
Outstanding assessment of this situation, Mom.

What number? 1? 2?
You would be more shocked if you saw some of the lesbians I know. Drop-dead gorgeous. Very feminine and drop-dead gorgeous.
Where were the parents?
Just a rhetorical question.
I’m holding my nose as a type one-handed: I MAY JUST HAVE TO VOTE FOE EOMNWY NOW.
Wouldn't that make Hope a potential pedophile?
They are nice looking, too bad they play for the other team.
So how do you propose going about figuring out which students are having premarital sex?
