Barney Frank says Obama's gay marriage endorsement won't sway voters

Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), the first openly gay member of Congress, said Sunday that he does not think President Barack Obama's gay marriage endorsement will sway anybody's vote.

Though Washington is abuzz with speculation about how the president's historic statement in support of same-sex marriage will affect his re-election prospects, the Massachusetts Democrat said the announcement leaves the race more or less the same.

"If you were going to cast your vote based on a candidate's position regarding same-sex marriage, you were already going to vote for Obama-Romney based on that," he told ABC's "This Week." "I literally don't think anybody's vote was changed by this one way or the other."

Frank argued that the Obama administration already had pushed for the repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy banning gays from serving openly in the military, and already had dropped its legal defense of the Defense of Marriage Act, which defines marriage as between one man and one woman.

Frank is, in fact, saying the President’s support of faux marriage is going to have a huge negative effect and greatly diminish his chances at re-election. Believe it or not, most libs I know would actually be pleased if Obama was gay. Being gay is cool and with-it.

Barney Frank says Obama's gay marriage endorsement won't sway voters...well of course that's what he says - he saw the Gallop poll which shows 26% of respondents saying they were less likely to vote for Obama after his announcement, while only 13% are more likely to - had it been the other way 'round, he would have pronounced the endorsement as having already won the election for O.....

Being of the melanin enriched persuasion myself, I can attest to that, although Latinos give blacks a run for their money on that score.

As soon as I heard the announcement that Obama was endorsing gay 'marriage', I knew that stomachs in the black community would turn.

Someone posted the statement from a prominent black pastor here today, in which he strongly condemns Obama for taking this stance. If one black pastor is saying this, you can bet that most are. It's going to spread, too.

Net loss all around for Bozo. Biden cost him plenty with his big mouth.
