Think of Gore trying to pass a simple algebra test.

Think of Clinton trying to pass a simple lie detector test.

Think of Hillary trying to “recall” a felony that she committed.

Why in h*ll do we think government idiots can do anything?

Wait ‘till robotics becomes ubiquitous. You think we’re seeing long-term unemployment now? Fugeddaboudit. It’s just around the corner too. Robots everywhere is right now about where the personal computer was in 1977.

Are you better off now than you were four years ago?

The problem is the entrenched attack posse, msm, that sits in wait to destroy anyone not ‘on their team’. Many people are angered and want to make a difference, but most will not sacrifice their families to do it. I respect Palin for pulling out. The reasons are clear imo. This needs to crash unfortunately imo. The oligarchy is running out of fools, and the entire information distribution system is changing, in no small part thanks to you.

I dream of an America where a guy can run a small business out of his home and actually make a living. Taxes, regulation, licensing, and stupid government are the only things that prevent me doing any number of things to make a living on my own. If I ever got big enough to hire 1 part time helper it would add a whole new layer of regulation and taxation.

Free market economists know that in a free society with a just government, the cure for unemployment in the long run is for the government to not intervene in the economy and allow a drop in money wage rates and prices. When both fall at the same time, there is little or no long term fall in real wage rates and the standard of living for the average worker. And the economy is not harmed by the destructive effects of inflation and government deficits.

I was self employed in ‘95. It was lot of work, but I made my own hours and took time when I needed it. I was a single parent at 19. I had no choice. Took the income tax courses and read the regulations while I was not working. No time for a life per say but I did get quite an education. Could not imagine starting from scratch again in this environment. The kids are being screwed more than the established imo.

When you have a person in the highest office of the nation that sides and is friends with socialists, marxists, communists, terrorists......what you got are problems. Problems that lead to civil unrest of the most “extreme kind”.

Twenty percent rise in unemployment in a mere 4 years!

Where else, but Keynesian-Marxist economics can ya get such a return on tax-payer money spent wastefully and knowingly!

Pew, of course, is a leftist group that feigns to be non-partisan.

While interesting, Pew leaves out that since July 2010, the number of people going on disability was HIGHER than the improvement in unemployment by 100,000!

http://confoundedinterest.wordpress.com/2012/05/12/something-wicked-this-way-comes-disability-and-average-weeks-unemployed-skyrocketed-since-mid-2010/

Stated differently, this economist argues that actual unemployment has RISEN, not fallen.

A Socialist recovery.

When I was a kid there were still some old timers around who had started businesses in the 20s and 30s with virtually no government interference. They said that they could start a business on a whim with no government forms to fill out and no interference from government as long as their products and services weren’t killing anyone.

My great grandfather came back from “the great war” and went to work as a surveyor in Michigan’s upper peninsula. Just him, his surveyor equipment, his camera equipment and an old Indian motorcycle. When that job was done, he went back to the head of the line and became a lineman hanging electric lines. That’s where he learned his true trade.

When that job was done, he went back to our home town and proceeded to work as an independent contractor hanging all the power lines in the area. In his spare time he and a bunch of the local young guys wired virtually every house in town.

Those guys who worked with my great granddad have told me some great stories about “Poop” (My grandfather’s nickname) over the years. They say he didn’t pay them a lot but he was an honest broker who bought them tools, fed them and made sure they learned what they needed to know to pick up side work on their own. He paid each according to their ability and need.

It’s really something to think about, I suspect that the call for a world population of no more than half a billion is prompted by the expectation that robots will do almost all the necessary work soon. All those extra “useless eaters” simply get in the way of the elite who want to be able to cruise empty highways, enjoy uncrowded beaches etc. You could own an estate like Biltmore if you have robots to do the work and you kill off the tourists who overrun it now.
What anointed one wants to live in a crowded world if you don’t need those people for labor? Anyone who would prefer life in an apartment building to having a ten thousand acre estate and a mansion is simply nuts.

Technology advances. It is harder to maintain that general knowledge. Every year it becomes more difficult. Moore’s Law.

My opinion: America in its present form will not survive the coming economic meltdown. The first groups of unemployed will shortly have reached the limit of unemployment benefits and more will be added as theirs end (read about this yesterday). These millions will need housing, water, food and they will have no money. After the first of next year, taxes go up and government debt and banks will be in trouble due to pending deadlines (just read about that), and the country will spiral downward and never be the same. The time of TEOTWAWKI arrives.

At some point, with millions needing life sustaining shelter/water/food, it may not be safe to leave your house to buy food and other items if they are still there (no guarantee of that). It is time to gather provisions if you haven’t already. I stay prepared due to Texas tornados and hurricanes and have added to my provisions to last a longer time due to the meltdown that will surely happen. I will never have to depend on FEMA to give me a bottle of water or an MRE. As long as Hussein is in power, he wouldn’t save me anyway as I think on my own and that puts me on his hate list.

I hope all Freepers realize the desperate situation our country is in and take action to have “life sustaining insurance” consisting of what it takes to live on your own for a period of time.

You likely have fire insurance, auto insurance, physical death insurance, and with what we are facing, that being the decline of the country, it makes total sense to store items to insure your family can live on it’s own without having to depend on others to literally live.

I wrote 20+ articles for the Survival Podcast website on how to prepare – how I did it and still do it. Over 11,000 people have used these articles to help them prepare without losing their mind. If you are interested in reading these, send me a Freepmail and I’ll give you instructions how to get there.

JIM, I hope I don’t have to go to California to save your life. If you don’t have water and food, we lose Free Republic and that is not acceptable (as long as we have electricity which hopefully we will have but no guarantee on that). Actually, even if FR goes away, I love you for being you and I would save you, FR or no FR. Guess I should store some extra honey for your wound or others you may develop. I already have two wheelchairs and other medical equipment and I was a licensed EMT and have that equipment and made the highest score on the EMT test of any in my class, so I’m ready for your call.

I think Lazamataz also lives in California and I’d save him if he would shut up long enough for me to do it (ha).

Thank you very much, Marcella. It’s difficult to rip up roots and move from the place you were born and have called home all your life, but we may be forced to do so soon. California is on the verge of total collapse and the liberals steadfastly refuse to quit piling on the debt. How about a trillion dollar high speed rail to hell? When the cities and counties start going broke (and it’s already happening) basic services will be cut and things will go downhill fast.

Got room on your compound for a few more (assuming we can still get gasoline for the freepmobile)? :)

God bless Texas. One of the few remaining states that actually respects Liberty!!

Sorry, thought you were in California. I’ll save you no matter what state you are in. I recall your saying in a post that you didn’t have much in way of preps. If you read my articles, that should give you the info. on what to do that is economical. Choose the items that are the cheapest but will keep you alive. MAKE A PLAN - that is covered in the articles. You will like reading those articles.

We don’t want to lose you.
