“Our intention with this story and future stories about both Mitt Romney and President Obama is to give people the fullest possible portrait of the men who are running for president. We will continue to explore their biographies, their decision-making, and their full lives.”

Can you ‘feel’ the ‘truth’ and ‘love’???

Might as well just change the title of the “Ombudsman” to “Flak-Catching Shill.”

The fact that he could not deny it, and apologized, spoke volumes, you don’t forget if you were that violent toward people or not.

“There is currently no evidence that the facts not yet disproved are false. As this story progresses, we are confident that facts for which there is no evidence will remain undisproved. Just ask Dan Rather.”

“This part of Horowitz’s story is tangential at best.”

Tangential, misleading coloring that was added to the gossip story and it was removed only after public exposure of errors.

What a white wash of a sham put-up hack job. WashCompost did macaca on george Allen, then attacked candidate McDonnell for a college paper, now this hit piece coordinated-with Obama’s coming out on gay marriage. Part of their DNC-enabling bias.

Lot of takedowns in the conservative blogosphere and elsewhere...

No witnesses, a denial by the family of the said victim and no memory from anyone else involved is a solid story for the Wash Post??

Everybody does dumb things when they are 15. We all grow up. If he did it recently then I can see the point in even bring it up.

Big deal if it is true. 40 years ago is a life time. I am sure the same reporters who enjoy flinging mud couldnt stand the same scrutiny.
Mitts sucks....but making up stuff and using hearsay is beyond the pale.

I always enjoyed his pranks,” said Stu White, a popular friend of Romney’s who went on to a career as a public school teacher and said he has been “disturbed” by the Lauber incident since hearing about it several weeks ago, before being contacted by The Washington Post.

Gee, Mr. Pexton, would it have been too much for this "deeply sourced" article to report how White was told about it; could it have been one of the "Democratic leaning" sources was suborning an account that he could feed to the Washington Post? "Hey, Stu, you remember the time Mitt bullied that freak, don't you?" "no." "Sure you do, Stu; Tom, Dick and Harry remember just like it was yesterday..yada,yada."

Bottom line - this story is not going to change anyone’s vote. Romney haters will still hate Romney and others will harbor serious doubts about whether this ever happened given the fact that the family does not recall the incident and the incident described would be remembered by family.

Aside from that, the real bully of this story is the Washington Post. The sister is tearful when questioned and furious that her brother has been used to further an agenda. Rather than backing off the story, the Post doubles down on it with no regard whatsoever to the pain they are causing to the family of this young man. He has been dead since 2004 and the Post uses him and his family shamelessly to further their own liberal agenda. SICKENING!

What about Obama admitting to bullying and hitting an unpopular little black girl that he wrote about in his first book. Who attacks a girl? That tells me more about Obama’s character than the Romney incident. Where was this story and subsequent investigaton by WAPO and other liberal papers. There was none.

The boy, John Lauber, was frightened and in tears, Horowitz explained, and the boy turned out to be gay.

The Trayvonification of the news. They've got a meme and they're running with it as hard as they can to get in as much damage as they can before it peters out. Then it will be dropped and they'll move on to the next bit. The evolution of this in the news has been from "...a student some thought was gay..." to "...a student many thought was gay..." to "...the boy turned out to be gay..." to "...Romney bullied a gay student."

“Our intention with this story and future stories about both Mitt Romney and President Obama is to give people the fullest possible portrait of the men who are running for president. We will continue to explore their biographies, their decision-making, and their full lives.”

Neither the Wash Post nor any other main stream media have done this with Obama. They have only reprinted the hagiography distributed by the Obama campaign and gone no farther.

Person X a few weeks ago heard about incident Y that supposedly happened over 45 years ago and supposedly involved Romney and that's huge news. But they ignore a participating eyewitness, so to speak (even though the witness has spoken about it in a very public forum), of Barry's relatively recent starring role in Tool Time in the Limo and cocaine use (this enthusiastic predilection for cocaine, as well as pot, alcohol, and other drugs definitively corroborated in Barry's very own voice in his award winning reading of "his" Dreams from My Father).
