Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, have endorsed Deb Fischer, providing the state Senators struggling bid to succeed retiring Sen. Ben Nelson (D) an adrenaline shot six days before the GOP primary.
Fischer sought the former Alaska governors support early in her campaign in a note, according to the Fischer campaign press release. Often in the 2010 cycle, candidates were surprised to receive a Palin endorsement. The Palin endorsement proved to be an effective tool for obscure candidates to gain footing in competitive primaries.
I am writing to you as both a fan of your strong, conservative principles and as a fellow female Republican, Fischer wrote to Palin. I have watched your career with respect as you take on tough issues, all while raising a family and serving your great state. Your career has inspired me and so many other female politicians who believe principles should be above politics.
The Palins wrote back six days before the primary.
We are happy to support you and have asked SarahPAC to send a financial contribution to your campaign, they wrote. Good luck next Tuesday the Palins are in your corner.
The endorsement is an enormous boost to what had previously been an also-ran campaign. Fischer has struggled mightily for both attention and campaign funds in a field of three. Her GOP opponents include state Attorney General Jon Bruning, widely considered the frontrunner, and state Treasurer Don Stenberg, who has benefited from the support of the likes of the Club for Growth and Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.).

Sarah Palin has chosen another Mama Grizzly. She seems like the best choice in the state. Conservatives have one week to put Fischer over the top.
Why does Sarah always seem to endorse women over much more qualified men?
Here’s some interesting news.
I hope a special NB FReeper can tell us more about her.
I’ve been canvassing for Fischer and she is a real-deal conservative. She’s been term limited out (two, four-year terms) from the NE state legislature and unlike her opponents, she’s been busy doing her job. Bruning and Stenberg have been engaging in a nasty tit-for-tat media fight. Deb and crew have been quietly working the districts with a very positive campaign.
She is pro-life, pro-NRA, anti-Obamacare, a fiscal conservative and very approachable. The agriculture community will have a strong advocate in DC if she’s elected. Taxpayers will definitely be supported.
If you remember my Indianola picture, I’d stand in the rain for her.
Jon Bruning - 29.8%
Deb Fischer - 25.6%
Don Stenberg - 18.0%

Stenberg and Bruning are not Lugar, Specter (you spelled his name wrong) Lieberman (you spelled his name wrong) or Kerry. Why you are rambling, I do not know.
Palin has a history of endorsing women even though more conservative men are in the race.
When she endorsed Karen Handel over Nathan Deal in Georgia, I lost much respect for her. Karen Handel was quite liberal on many important social issues, and had associations with radical homosexuals, yet that didn’t stop Sarah from endorsing her.
She doesn’t, why did you just sign up and hit the ground running, just like a retread does it?
Stenberg and Bruning are not Lugar.
Oh true. Stenberg has been in this dog race a few times and can’t seem to cross the finish line. He gets a certain percentage and just stays there. He can win a minor post but the big positions? Close but no cigar.
Bruning? Train wreck with a 411 which would make the National DNC and Bob Kerry salivate with envy. The TPX made a big mistake in endorsing him. Their latest rally in Omaha was a snooze fest.
Did she endorse Karen Handel or not?
Retread nooby, we went through all this before, Palin makes her endorsements based on her brilliant political analysis, not on sex.
I have not followed this race. But Sarah is not that much of a risk taker with her endorsements. My guess is that Fischer has momentum.
Stenburg will have to drop out and endorse Fischer if she is to pull off a win.
Did she endorse Karen Handel or not?
I was really leaning towards Flynn early on, but when he told a local radio talk show host he supported Ron Paul for president, I changed my mind.
Been giving Fischer a lot more research lately.
I too was baffled why the TPX endosed Brunning. Classic GOPe.
Stenberg? Ditto. No thanks.
You never supported or had respect for Sarah Palin.
You are, however, obsessed with Karen Handel.
I happen to admire Karen Handel over the fight to stop funding Planned Parenthood, an organization that does NOTHING to help breast cancer research and should NEVER have received funding in the first place, while she was VP of Susan G Komen.
You, however, seem to be a crony of Nathan Deal.
Is this all she wrote for Stenberg? He’s already in third if those 2 polls are to be believed. He has impressive endorsements but none of them match Palin’s influence. I think Todd Tihart was the only Senate endorsement she made last time that didn’t win the primary. (unfortunately McCain and Angle aren’t on that list too)
This one is good if Fischer indeed has a better chance at beating Bruning than Stenberg.
