CNSNews.com) Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Sunday disputed charges that the United States is anti-Islam, telling an audience in Bangladesh that the perception was deeply hurtful.
I certainly think President Obama has sent a very clear message of respect and appreciation of all religions, and in particular of Islam, she said.
Addressing a public forum at the International School in Dhaka, Clinton was asked for her reaction to the common perception held by many young people that the U.S. is anti-Muslim.
Oh, that hurts me, she replied. That hurts me so much, honestly. I mean, its a painful perception to hear about, and I deeply regret that anyone believes that or propagates it.
Clinton defended the U.S. against the allegation, and challenged other countries to treat its minorities better.
I believe that the United States, through our laws and through our constant political dialogue, has gone probably farther than anywhere else in the world in trying to guarantee legal protections for people, she said.
I would like to see more countries do more to protect the rights of minorities because I think thats an important part of democracy and of recognizing that no matter what our religion or whatever our background might be, we share this planet with people from many different vantage points, and we should be respectful.
Clinton described U.S. anti-terror actions over the past decade as self defense.
We have gone after the terrorists who, personally, I do not believe is in any way reflective of Islam. I think that people who use religion, who pervert religion, for their own power or their own personal needs or their own desires are doing a great disservice to religion. And you find people who, over history, have used every religion for that purpose.
Bangladesh, a country carved out of Pakistan amid an Indo-Pakistan war in 1971-72, is the worlds third biggest Muslim country (after Indonesia and Pakistan). Only one U.S. president has traveled to Bangladesh President Clinton in 2000 and Hillary Clintons visit at the weekend was the first by a secretary of state in nine years.
In a recent Gallup poll that found support around the world for U.S. leadership under Obama has fallen between 2010 and 2011, Bangladesh accounted for the biggest drop out of 37 Asian countries surveyed 17 percentage points over that one-year period.
Hillbag and "O" are just handing the Muslims our country. They are brutal murderers and soon will have free will to murder us in our homeland. They're both absolutely disgusting. What a disgrace to our freedom. May they rot in hell.
The new Muslim(Sharia) law is that a man can have sex with his wife up to 6 hours after she is dead, and the same for women to have sex with their husbands up to 6 hours after their death. One can only wonder how good the sex would be after she was dead several hours. I realize that most think their wife is dead during sex, but what do I know? Additionally, will mortuaries have to have rooms tuilt to accommodate the trysts between live and dead spouses, or are they allowed to jump in the coffin with them?
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
I have NO respect for a religion that OPPRESSES half its population and in a special way by forcing that half, including non-Muslims to wear a hijab.
Honor killing, jihad, the concept of infidels, yes indeed, that’s the same as RCC. Time to start respecting voodoo and snake worship too.
AMEN to that!
Your Ford Model T can be any color you want, so long as it's black.
Obama respects and appreciates all religions, as long as they're all called "Islam".
For Judaism and orthodox Christianity, he'll give lip service, but his actions bespeak utter contempt.
Islam is an invasive disease, we have the medicine to prevent it from living inside our country, but it won;t taste or feel good taking that medicine.
The actual war of Islam will be the non stop propaganda against America whitewashing Islam as a peaceful religion.
“Obama Has Sent Message of Respect For All Religions—in Particular of Islam”
Right... and to the PARTICULAR exclusion of Christianity.
They want to kill Americans.
Clinton endorses this ?
Since when has he had any respect for the Bitter Clingers?
Pray for America
Respect for Christianity? Yea, forcing Christians, even Christian churches, to fund killing babies and fund homosexuality is a real act of respect.
The Islam problem is very similar to the ‘Holder’s People’ problem.
1) Both are very violent while fighting with everybody
2) No one really like either group
3) Both glorify a backward culture
4) Both have many supporters suffering from ‘white guilt’
5) Both destroy everything they touch
6) If a member speaks out against the group. the person is immediately publicly reprimanded.
7) They tend to kill more of their own
8) Neither has really created anything useful
9) Both blame whites for their problems
10) Both claim a certain US president.
Well, just because Islam is anti-US, it doesn’t mean we need to be anti-Islam, does it?

Islam and the US constitution are like oil and water. They are built on diametrically opposed foundational beliefs. They can not coexist in the same country any more than the “kinder and gentler” Neo-Nazi’s could exist in Israel.
Well, Islam is the “True Religion”(R) and all of that.
But the real issue at play is that Islam has gained fear and respect for itself by turning into the schoolyard bully. It rules the ‘hood these days.
Because forcing Catholics to fund the killing of innocent babies in the womb is a sure sign of respect, right Killary?
No, we don’t respect Islam!!!! The first sacrament of their religion is murder. The next sacrament is sodomizing young dancing boys.
Look at where this nation is at! We have a lesbian secretary-of-state repeating policy statements for the halfrican girlie-man who is squatting in our White House.
All religions are equal, but some religions are more equal than others. George Orwell saw it coming a long time ago.
Pro-Islam but anti-Christian
Islam is the personification of evil!
