JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- Two young models -- one white, the other black -- from a generation too young to have personal memories of apartheid, have exposed South Africas racist underbelly in recent days with a series of angry tweets.
The seemingly casual racist remarks by the models suggest that some members of South Africas born free generation, who entered the world after the end of apartheid, nonetheless may sport toxic attitudes.
On May 3, Jessica Leandra Dos Santos, a 20-year-old blond model who says her days revolve around being kind, sent a tweet that was anything but.

The shock over racial epithets will wear off. I think they will become more common soon. Violence is more offensive than name-calling, and as racial violence ramps up, I think the name-calling will be more open.
Lots of killing went on in that part of the world. I’d say it would be kinda dumb to expect zero hard feelings on either side afterwards.
My white South African friend, who is 19, has told me there is and will be no such thing as post-Apartheid South Africa. He said after Mandela dies, all bets are off and blacks are waiting for their “revenge.”
I think we have some 'itching' for something here too.
Obama hasn't done anything to improve race relations .....
If the model was sexually harassed, why haven’t the police done something about it? Is it okay for a black man to harass a white woman and nothing happens, but if she says something nasty about it, she is cruxified.
I think South Africa should do something about their high crime rate, high unemployment, ANC corruption, and anti-white policies re the farms.
Nasty internet comments are the least of their problems.
lets not mention the black on white rapes.
south africa is the rape leader in the world, not just statistically, in raw numbers. Almost 100% black men on white women, but hey black men on white men too.
Someone needs to console her now.....
she is a damned lib. like I said, the smart ones got out. 1978 for me and my family.
OMG! A white person somewhere in the world said something derogatory about another race!
Quick, LA Times to the scene! Begin guilt-sequencing immediately!

I moved to ATL in 1977. I came to learn that there is a large SA Jewish emigre community from that same time frame, maybe even a few years earlier. They correctly saw the way things were heading that long ago.
Is anyone willing to educate me on what the dreaded “K-word” is? I’m not from around there.

Old hurts take a long time to heal. When you have retaliation & retribution, the mess just compounds. Makes the Hatfields & McCoys look like a love fest.
I guess the foreign branches of SA tourist ceased being useful in the 70s.

Probably “kaffir”. From the Arabic Qafir (”unbeliever”), it is (or was) a common slur in sub-Saharan Africa.
If your friend's prediction proves true it wouldn't necessarily be a surprise. The recent history of Zimbabwe's been pretty well documented.
