I've been torn between Senator Rob Portman of Ohio and Senator Marco Rubio of Florida for the GOP Vice Presidential spot. Marco Rubio was on "FOX News Sunday With Chris Wallace" today. OMG, the dude was AWESOME!!! He did not miss a step; sharp, sensible, intelligent answers to every question. I was amazed at how smart this guy is. Don't know for sure, but, you might be able to see the interview on FOX News.com
Yep, Marco Rubio is my guy for VP.
Since we aren’t taking questions about Rubio’s eligibility seriously because we can’t speak out against Romney, we might as well throw Sarkozy into the mix for VP nomination. He’s available now, you know.
Rubio is for a form of Amnesty. No thanks.

He was provided Naturalized Citizenship at birth by USC Title 8 Chapter 12 Subchapter III Part I § 1401 subparagraph (a). US law can NOT make you Natrural Born. It comes naturally. If your citizenship depends on US law, you are not Natural Born.
Welcome to Free Republic.
You with the GOP establishment elite?

You know, I even think you might be right, about Rubio. But it's not just you or I. How 'bout if we have a national debate about this before throwing him on the ticket?
And it's nice that you tell me that Rubio was born here. But from now on I think I'd like to see some proof.

I want to see his grandparents drivers licenses.
maybe because of post #36, Pal....
Everyone shines brighter than Romney and he knows it. Romney is going to select someone who will help him get to the White House. That's all that matters. Romney's no fool. He knows he's having a hard time closing the deal with conservatives and the candidate he picks will be expected to do just this (as well as deliver a battleground state).
At this point, I can't imagine him choosing anyone other than Marco Rubio.
Was the answer any surprise to you??

You proved my case. I never said they should be rewarded with anything, let alone citizenship. But you knee jerked so hard I bet you knocked your lap top off the table. Thanks for playing.
BTW, we have negative Mexican immigration now, so the job market has taken care of this problem all on its own.
You tried to be too cute by half - above your grade. Not very appropriate or effective use of the term straw men. That was not the tactic I used. I used simple exaggeration and a tad of hyperbole to make a point. Don’t try this at home......
You are correct. The Supreme Court has already established that to be classified as a "natural born citizen", both of your parents must be citizens at the time of your birth (Minor vs. Happersett). Rubio does not meet this standard and cannot be eligible to serve as Vice President or President. The preservation of our Constitution is far more valuable to any one of us than any candidate we might wish to have elected.
He is not.
'Natural Born' isn't even mentioned on that link.
no I did not bid you welcome...
go read the posts joker...
“I’ve been torn between Senator Rob Portman of Ohio and Senator Marco Rubio of Florida”
Torn between two critters, feelin’ like a fool
Lovin’ both of you is breakin’ all the rules
Torn between two critters, feelin’ like a fool
Lovin’ you both is breakin’ all the rules
You mustn’t think you’ve failed me
Just because there’s someone else
You were the first real love I ever had
And all the things I ever said
I swear they still are true
For no one else can have the part of me I gave to you
Noob love, sigh ......................
I think you’re citing the wrong case. At least according to Wikipedia:
Minor v. Happersett, 88 U.S. 162 (1875), was a United States Supreme Court case in which the Court held that the Constitution did not grant women the right to vote. The Supreme Court upheld state court decisions in Missouri, which had refused to register a woman as a lawful voter because that state’s laws allowed only men to vote.
