I was forced to be an ABO because the candidate I supported didn’t make it to the finish line. I will be visiting the link because the truce is the right thing to do and maybe in the meantime we can drag Romney to our side.

Not a snowball’s chance in Hades.

If the sysop wants to put his money where his mouth is, beautiful.

His house, his rules.

As far as mea culpa’s go, his was weak, and only materialized when it affected his bottom line.

No sale.

"....but let's over-achieve this FReepathon to get JR his new equipment!"

Sorry but every year they said they were working on it.

My kids finally convinced me my computer was a peice of junk so I went out and spent ALL my money on a new computer and I find out it is FreeRepublics fault. This is the ONLY site that takes forever to load. My kids were wrong. There was nothing wrong with my old computer. Now ALL my extra money is gone.

IMO, Free Republic and FReepers could be vital in swing states

Any idea how many FReepers there are?

I’m hoping, in the future, the Wikipedia entry for “Circular Firing Squad” doesn’t include a link to Free Republic.

The GOP is now a pro-choice party and will fail like the Whigs.

In light of the truce, I asked Jim R to please allow me to rescind my opus, and restore my posting privileges. It seems he was gracious enough to do that. The truce was a good step in the right direction. It takes a big man to change direction, and frankly I thought Jim Rob’s opposition to Romney was so great that Jim would never back off one bit.

So let’s celebrate something positive and not be too negative. I don’t think religion was the big issue in this blow up, it was all about the hatred of either Obama or Romney, or both.

At the moment I’m grateful for both the truce and my reinstatement, and want to focus on defeating Obama.

ABO... exactly! 100%... It is the ONLY possible solution. But too bad Jim and FR still don’t seem to “get it.” And now you’re pleading for us old-time FRs to “come back?” Good luck!
When I tried to reason with Jim recently that the problem was not Romney, but Obama... he suggested I may want to go elsewhere. To another who did not like Romney but also suggested the only way to save the country was to vote “against” Obama by voting for Romney, Jim’s reply was (and I quote) “FU!”
I’m sorry, but it took donations drying up before Jim decided he had to back-track a little. As far as I’m concerned, it’s too little, too late. FR is irrelevant now and will cease to exist in its present form very shortly.
Jim... please take off the blinders... the problem is not Romney - it’s Obama!
If I’m zotted... you will only make my point.

Thanks for this thread.

I have just quickly read the first 600 posts on your thread.

With all due apologizes to the posters that I may have misread, I find that this partial quote by “gutsy” sums up the major problem that your thread has exposed at FR:

” - - - The two strands of Conservatism are talking past each other in our latest argument. We come from the two different places. One strand is one that places its priorities on the fiscal and foreign policy issues. - - - “

” - - - The other strand is the Social Conservatives. - - - “

We are divided.

What is the common ground between these two groups of Conservatives?

What is each Group trying to CONSERVE?

IMHO, I think that this thread should continue as THE thread for the social Conservatives, as only posts # 101 and 151 brought up the topic of THE MAIN PROBLEM.

Please start a new thread for the fiscal Conservatives.

Perhaps in this manner common ground can be discovered.

BTW, just what is THE MAIN PROBLEM?

Not happening when Obama is supported openly on FR. Until the folks that say they are voting for Obama are gone, so am I. Until then ABO, and those who support Obama can go jump off a cliff.

Well Seizethecarp, sorry I’m late to the thread. My son and his family came in for the weekend. I see this thread has turned into a religious bashing 700+ post thread. I tried to read it all but it was so redundant and boring I just skimmed over it.

I don’t think I have seen a single freeper that selected Romney as their first choice. I am a Newt Supporter, but to answer your question, let me make further comparisons between Romney and the Kenyan by asking you to consider the following questions:

Which candidate has a deep-seated, visceral hatred for America?

Which candidate has a similar hatred for White Americans?

Which candidate is not just a supporter of “gays”, but has exhibited such deviant behavior?

Which candidate is a closet Muslim?

Which candidate supports Muslim operations around the world?

Which candidate has a spouse that shares the same hatred?

Which candidate most hates free enterprise?

Which candidate has assigned his incompetent attorney general to attack the US citizens of Arizona for seeking to defend their borders against foreign criminals?

Which candidate has actually earned much of his way to the top of his field and which has had everything delivered in his lap because of his race?

Which candidate allies himself with marxist pigs, known terrorists, and open racists?

And finally, and most importantly, which candidate has a corrupt old media on his side and has a well-planned plot to divide his opposition by making sure his opponents split their ticket, thereby assuring his second term?

I will not fall for this demRAT-trap.
