2012 looks to be a 2008 redux as far as my nose is concerned when I enter the polls. So be it.

ditto. If Romney choses a conservative VP, that would make it easier.

Keeping a House majority and getting a Senate majority would also - they could control his liberal tendencies. If he gets Democrats to work with, all could be lost.

“Let’s face it - this thread is about surrender. Plain and simple.”

Perhaps, unless of course, you’re prepared for martyrdom!

“...We’d rather sit back and grouse about how we got gyped again, while huffing and puffing about how next time, we’re really gonna get ‘em. ...”

Nothing will change unless Conservatives actually MOVE into leadership positions at all levels - township, county, state, etc., - where public policy can actually be influenced. IOW, where we can actually DO something according to principles.

If we sit at home and don’t run for office, how do we change anything? If want to change the GOP, WE have to BE the GOP.

Like scumbag ALinsky said (and he was right): YOU be the Delegate...or the township supervisor...or the county tax collector...etc.

That’s how they did it. The OWSholes and other street mimes are just sideshow and distraction. They aren’t the real threat; the real threat is the nameless, faceless apparatchniki raising your taxes every year, fining you for having your grass too high, or too many cars in your driveway, or sitting on the school board and having radical lefties lecture your children in school on a daily basis.

Only - they AREN’T nameless, and they AREN’T faceless; they’re people that live in your neighborhoods, and they are doing things that directly impact you and your families.

The other side USED THE SYSTEM, gamed it, and got elected.

Seems to me our side needs to do the same thing, challenge them publically, door-to-door, mailbox to mailbox, neighbor to neighbor.

We accomplish ZERO by not being in these positions. The system is what it is. We should learn to use it, and learn fast.

I don’t pretend to have the answers to this, but it seems to me that, even as repulsive as we find Alinsky, the SOB was right, and they pulled it off. What did another commie bastard Ho Chi Minh say - cherish your enemies, they teach you the best lessons?

You can start locally by getting on your own town council, or even run for Sheriff, or deputy, or whatever. Just get in the door by whatever means you can.

We have bright people out here, with incredible political minds...why aren’t we in positions to put it to good use?

Ideas?

You are a true patriot and speak the truth without question.

The GOP and Romney prove the fact that elections are now bought and the candidate who is not “their fair haired child” is deemed an outcast and will be crushed under the continual incoming fire from the “selected one” and his surrogates thanks to the money alone.

We have lost the ability to vote freely and elect the best person for the job simply due to the fact that the one with the most money always wins.

It is time to change this “thuggery” upon the common voter by either voting power or if that fails, actual revolution.

Romney cared about the republic he would have not run for the Presidency.

All Mitt cares about is power and earning Godhood (which is also about gaining power).

choke down the excrement sammich (dear Lord, please make it the last one) ...

Feeding the beast by voting for liberals "this last time!" is only going to make it continue. The only way to make it stop is to vote such that liberals LOSE.

I’m with you Boss.

The way I see it, my vote for President is irrelevant so I can safely write in my conscience.

If conservatives were really as worthy as we like to thump our chest and point to ourselves as being, we’d get out and work for a real conservative - six months or no - instead of rolling over and pulling the Rom-knee pads out of the drawer.

Exactly.

Therefore I Will be exercising that Right we fought for, to not Cast a Vote For President in this Election cycle. If anyone wants to call that unPatriotic, they have the right to. BUT DONT TREAD ON ME

Sorry old friend.

I can not go there. Not only do I have grandkids to worry about, I just found out that I am gonna be a Dad again. (Yay, with as many sarc tags as can work!)

I am 57 years old. Fought in three wars on the dirty end, only one of which was justified by my oath to the Crown - the other two were matters of state and pulling US chestnuts out of the fire.

No one has the right to tell me what to think or do. We talk, dispute and tease each other - that is fine. But I’ll not be told to put up or shut up.

That I cannot accept.

To me, that’s what FR is all about — to advance the conservative movement.

BINGO! And some are hell bent on embracing liberalism/socialism and trying desperately to get others to join with them with fear tactics.

Just let the weak go their way, as for me my roots are firmly planted in Christianity that made this country great. The weak have surface roots that are easily shaken loose like a tooth - the toothless, the faithless.

I also can’t support the fiscal liberal that Romney is

His record proves he is just that - the weak listen to his lying tongue.

I understand his foreign policy seems a bit odd.

That's it in a nutshell.

Besides, We need to listen to the people that have already passed judgement relating the Ron Paul. He simply isn't POTUS material, according to voters. Why didn't he run for Senator in your state? My guess is that he had no chance of winning. Personality is important, as well as positions at the national level. Ron seems like a good man, but he's not someone that 1/2 of the voting public nationally can get behind, me included.

It’s a damn inportant issue and far too many conservatives throw away their ENTIRE ballot with a write-in protest vote.

Damn few understand that it will void their whole ballot!

On another thread, SaraJohnson has posted a very insightful comment about the Republican Party and their dereliction of duty:

“The truth coming out is a huge threat to both political parties who abbetted the crime through disinformtion and harassment of people trying to uncover their treasonous action.
As Sheriff Joe exposes the scam with documentation, Republicans will be forced deeper into the criminal cover up. This single betrayal of the Republic could be behind their rejection of the power offered to them by the Tea Party. They have to smear the Tea Party as extremist kooks because the Tea Party is the source of political power that will demand the truth on Obama and expose what the criminal Republican leadership has been hiding. They don’t want to deal with the consequences of what they have done to the country.”

Voting in a new class of T.E.A. Party candidates will help ensure Romney stays in line.

- - - - -
What makes you think that? The Tea Party candidates have all rolled over for Romney as it is.

as a tea party libertarian... yes i consider myself the classic definition of libertarian, not the pussilious isolationists, but the do business with those countries emulating the values of the US constitution and freedom.

we hold our nose and pray romney can win the day and we vote out the gop elites and place in the house and senate those who will stand up for our way of life... the president will follow, he’ll have to... even barack obamma is finding out his despotism is hard to playout as he wishes.

teeman

and keep the powder dry, cause they will come for it soon.
