>>The real tugging will occur within the R’s. If we can’t tug him to the right as far as we like, we’ll grow the T-Party even more until we can’t be denied. Repeat; Romney will bend to pressure.
I agree. I think we’re going to see some fight in Romney that will make Obama cower. Mitt may have been a leftist bast*rd during his time in Massachusetts, but if he was a Newt Gingrich the Republicans would never get elected. I think the central question remaining unanswered is this - “Is Romney going to step up to the realization that the country is over if major government cutting and tax decreases do not occur and Obamacare is repealed?”
The pressure can be kept on Romney now that we have an alternative media, he won’t ignore his base. I do think it sucks that the GOP chose him as their Golden Boy though. So many other better choices.
Fractured conservative voteing is what gave us McCain, it gave us Romney. I dont see any way to a different outcome 4 years from now.

Sadly, I don’t either. The RINOs count on us caving.
But if the Tree of Liberty must now be refreshed with it's natural manure, so be it.
It’s the right move Jim. Thanks.
Well said Jim. Living to fight another day, each of us are in this Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, all the Men and Women who make us Proud, each citizen is there whether that citizen wants to be there or not. God understands and the people at your site understand, why each of us have to fight for another day when our victory will be complete. Thanks Jim. From your keyboard to God's ears. Prayers Up!
The rule is simple; vote for the more conservative candidate. Always.
Romney won the primary fair and square, so he will be the nominee. Why he won doesn't matter. How he won doesn't matter. He won. That's the way the system works.
LOL ... and did not even have to click the link. LOL
Thanks, JR.
Good to hear it.
Doesn’t change how what we think of Romney. He will need to be dragged to the right...hell, to the center, even.
We’ve a long road ahead of us...
“Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks.” Phillips Brooks (December 13, 1835 January 23, 1893)
The question you need to answer is, “Will Obama lose?”...
Not, “Will Romney win???”
It is a question that requires a simple yes, or no answer...There is no other way to do it...
This would have been true regardless of whom the Republican elites would have allowed us to have as a nominee.../sarc
I’m dissapointed in the whole election cycle process, some of us have been in the party trenches doing what we could to influence and steer the party in a direction away from the country-clubbing, elitist, moderate, appeasing, compramising bunch of feckless representatives and candidates for years...To no real difference...
We were paid lip service by many in that group, and are tired of having to justify holding our noses when we get to the polls over the last 10-15 years...
I intend to continue to do what I can from the inside...I do not like my chances...I hope there are more like me in this position...
What we need to realize now is that if Romney and the GOP elites fail to win the WH this November, do they realize, or even see, the incredible damage to the party as a whole this will do??? Its not just going to be another credibility hit either...This may well dry up the majority of donations and support to Republican candidates and incumbents because of the short sightedness of the Republican party leadership as well...
I would recommend as I have done before to forget about the top job this cycle and focus on getting the down ballot candidates we can hope that can wrestle control back to a more conservative bent and totally neuter the Obama administration after this next election...We need to focus on that anyway...
Keeping the House, and getting back the Senate may give us enough time to stave off the continued slide to oblivion that is the course we are on now...
Otherwise...It’s been nice knowing y’all...
I hope I am wrong...I really do...As it stands now, I will not be surprised either way...
What I hope for is to not see a lot of whining and crying after election day...We had a chance, and we could have effected a political shift, hopefully in time to get some things corrected...
We shall see...

The resulting flames got me to write my own opus, but I decided to wait until morning to post. Never did, but I’m keeping it on file, just in case.

There is a big Tea Party Express rally for Paul in Austin this week end. If I thought I could get away with it I post an article about it. But I have seen to many banned for doing stuff like that so I am not going to risk it. It is ok to be a Paul supporter here as long as you don’t make to much noise. I think I got a slight pass since Paul is my congressman, I know he is a little nuts and has some crazy ideas but hey no one is perfect and he is very good on spending.
I am disappointed that Romney will be the Republican candidate, but I will vote for him as the lesser of two evils. The worst case scenario would be for BO to be re-elected because of conservatives refusing to vote for Romney.
I have to remind myself that it wasn't until August of 2008 that McCain announced his choice of Sarah Palin for VP. Up until that time I was contemplating not voting (for POTUS) for the first time since I had reached voting age. Like many others I talked myself into the proposition that I wasn't so much voting for McLame as I was for Palin.
I'm just not sure that there will be anyone that mittens can select that will "sweeten" the vomit-flavor that will come from pulling the lever for him.
God help us all.
