Earlier today Barack Obama posed for photos before he gave his speech tonight.

Two months ago during a speech by Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta.
US Marines were told to leave their weapons outside the tent.
Tonight Barack Obama gave a speech at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan.
US soldiers were not allowed.

Good catch. Seems to me that the elbow should be between chin and ear level.
YEPPERS. Seems like the commander was a better speaker and had the soldiers’ attention.
Very tepid response. I’ve seen VIP speeches before, some good ones and some real clunkers. This is in the second category.
The “Hoooah” from Obama is embarrassing. That’s a soldier thing, and he hasn’t earned it, and you can feel some resentment.
Notice how neatly his sleeves are rolled up... Just try to get away with that if you were an officer in the military.. What a DIP shit.. DIP... Dumb Ignorant Piss poor...

Can’t say anything about the other pictures, but the one with him and the wookie with the wrong hand over their hearts is a fake - Photoshopped. It’s a reverse image of a picture of them with the correct hand over their hearts, then rings shopped onto their fingers to look like their left hand. The giveaway: look at which side the Marine guard’s ribbons are on! Whoever flipped the image and shopped it, forgot to swap the ribbons!
When Bush went to Military bases; did he take the POTUS podium with him; and stand behind President's Seal when speaking?
Haunting face; looking on. A penny for 'his' thoughts. . .
[Missed perhaps; but this is first I realized, that the Commander-in-Chief, did NOT speak to Troops.]
Makes me think of sceptics re moon landing. Did he 'really' go there? Or more to point; if not speaking to Military; why not just send campaign 'message', from Oval Office?
Of course, what kind of world attention/photo op/print would 'that'; much less, aide critical image enhancement at home.
Well a bit confused and will check further on thread; tomorrow. . .any pictures of Obama 'shaking hands' with his soldiers? Too late for me; to 'stay tuned'; but check again; later, , ,
The Obama 'revolutionary' business pants - or what?
according to that link, 3000 troops were in a hangar and he spoke to them, although the phrasing is weird. States the general gave a warmup speech, then Obama spoke to the troops and did 45 minutes of handshakes/etc. If this was a secret trip, I doubt they could get that many people into the hangar.
I’m still wondering if it wasn’t broadcast and there were not actually 3000 troops in the hangar.
Some links are saying the troops weren’t allowed but I can find anything that directly says that. How did he do photo ops and handshakes unless some troops were there?
He’s facing mecca and saluting his leaders.
-——How could he go to a war zone and not meet with the troops——
I concluded he had a dilemma. He wanted the speech to be live and the time provided by the networks was 7:30, not prime time but near it. In Afghanistan it was 8 or so hours before, meaning 4 or 5 o’clock local.
The problem was dragging the troops out of their racks and into an assembly at 0 dark 30 to hear a speech read from teleprompters.
I’m certain that the handlers decided that it would be more detrimental to drag the troops out than to not have them present at all.
What we (I) do not know is if he met with some during their normal working hours.
Obama was long gone by that time. He was on the ground for only a few hours. Photo op for campaign.

“US Soldiers Not Invited”
Hmmm, someone is obviously trying to keep OBozo alive!!
I think you nailed it since a U.S military base is the only place he is safe. Keeping out the military is only insurance.
He is truely a joke!
Thanks
Mei culpa
