(Reuters) - Occupy Wall Street's call for a general strike to mark International Workers Day got off to a slow start on Tuesday, with sparse gatherings at a handful of spots around a rainy New York City.
At Bryant Park in midtown Manhattan, about 100 activists gathered where the group had promised a "pop-up encampment" emblematic of the movement's early days in lower Manhattan's Zuccotti Park near the Wall Street financial district.

I visited the Occupy Wall Street site last October.I was in the neighborhood and dropped by to laugh at the creatures on exhibit. At one point I asked a cop if it was OK to taunt them and he smiled and said “naaaah, they're not worth the effort”.

The face of Occupy:
Tell me again how the Tea Party movement are violent racists and the Occupy movement is the peaceful common man.

Yeah, well, 5 of the occupy anarchists (Oboma reelection supporters) have been arrested so far in an attempt to blow up the Cleveland bridge to celebrate their day of “It’s Not Fair Those Who Go To Work Every Day Have More Stuff Than Us Who Are Too Lazy To Get Our Own Jobs” Day.

I hear the employment numbers this week are going to suck - again. I find it odd these so called "innocent unemployed people" are out campaigning for the leader of a party who's destroyed the economy they're suppose to be bitching about!
Talk about self defeating behavior! Why don't they just shoot themselves right now and end their self inflicted misery? These people are gluttons for punishment! Sheesh!

Mommy probably wouldn’t let them out of the house so they wouldn’t catch a cold.

Can I make an observation? These “occupy” whatever people claim to want to reform excesses of capitalism and all that. But, why would they pick Mayday to stage major events? Mayday is the communist worker’s holiday. Do they want to be associated with communism? Do they realize the symbolism associated with Mayday? Or do they not care? Or are they really communist/socialist sympathizers and want to let the world know that?
Or, are some of these kids so uneducated that they don’t know about the history of Mayday????

Only the committed commies (who should ALL be committed!) will show up in the pouring rain. Let’s hope for afternoon cloudbursts!

“Hey, do you want to go downtown and protest the oppression of capitalism and its vice-like grip on our government and its boot on the neck of working people?”
“Nah, it looks like it might rain”.

Yes on at least one count per individual to each of the above.

Nobody can stand these asses. I was in San Fransisco a week and a half ago and my Cabbie says:

Or, are some of these kids so uneducated that they dont know about the history of Mayday????That's my first guess.
Kids today don't know the socialist and communist leaders of the past - or the consequences of letting them rise to power - because the schools no longer teach history. They've replaced it with their own version of socialism studies! Today, leaders like Joseph Stalin are considered hero's in Americas classrooms.
On May 13th, 1932, Hitler (German National Socialist Party) ran for election, but lost to his opponent from the Republican Party.
He ran again and defeated the Republicans, and we all know how Hitlers Socialist party ended up after that.
