Candidly, I have struggled with this for years -- how best to explain why I am a black conservative and why fellow black Americans should join me.
I served on a board with an extremely bright black mom. Both of her kids, a boy and a girl, are brilliant; her son received a full scholarship to Yale.
This black mom is well-read on "whiny" black liberal authors and philosophers. I am talking about the majority of black authors you see featured on mainstream TV. They sound extremely intellectual, explaining how white America is still systematically abusing blacks and why more heavily funded government programs are the answer. I feel like screaming at my TV, "Knock it off! Bottom line is you hate white people and are seeking more entitlement government freebies!" Such needy victim rhetoric has nothing to do with, nor does it achieve, real black empowerment. Frankly, these people turn my stomach.
As I said, the black mom is extremely well-read on victimhood-peddling black authors and has never heard of brilliant black conservatives Professor Walter Williams and Dr. Thomas Sowell.
Professor Walter E. Williams is an American economist and academic. He is the John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics at George Mason University, as well as a syndicated columnist.
Dr. Thomas Sowell is an American economist, social theorist, political philosopher, and author of 30 books. Dr. Sowell is currently a Rose and Milton Friedman Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
Both these guys are about "real" black empowerment, teaching personal responsibility, education, hard work, and morality -- not the standard blacks-are-eternal-victims and white-America-owes-us garbage spouted by black pundits on TV. Thus, you never see Prof. Williams or Dr. Sowell on mainstream TV.

I respect Lloyd a great deal, but it will NEVER change unless and until the hearts of individual Blacks change. It is a sad fact that their culture is rife with a deep sickness. It is why people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are Satan’s tool as they peddle racism and divisiveness as a means to enrisch themselves. It is evil.
What I find most disturbing is that many godly men who know better simply to not stand up and speak the truth. They seem to be quiet as church mice fearful of their Black brethren. It’s like no one dares speak against the unspoken Black code out of fear. Very sad.
There are two major themes that should be developed to point out Democratic hypocrisy. 1) For the past three generations liberals have forced minorities to use dysfunctional urban schools.They have been denied vouchers and choice.Of course urban liberals like Obama, Pelosi, the Kennedy family, and Rahm Emmanuel “choose”good private schools for their kids. The result has been keeping minorities poorly educated, ignorant and easily manipulated. 2) Liberals fund and position abortion clinics in minority neighborhoods. Minorities are actually killed to limit their numbers. Stooges like Jackson and Sharpton are bought off to front for this crime. Would love to see a PAC headed by Allen Keyes or Herman Cain publicising this message

I'm done feeling guilty about being mugged. They want to vote Dem? Let 'em. They want to fail? Let 'em. They want to blame me? Fine. But don't expect me to care anymore.

Not happening in our lifetime. The battle for hearts and minds is over and our side lost. Change in the minority mindset will require a cultural reboot. That will only happen after a generation or two has to live completely on their own without aid from Uncle Sam.

I'd like to disagree with you on this, but I can't.
Numerically speaking, the black vote hasn't played an important part in the election of a Republican president in a very, very long time.
And I see what passes for black culture in America and I can find nothing of value to emulate.

With Justa Jackasson getting mainstream media coverage when he gives lie-laden speeches to black dolts, and the fawning media whoredom praising him as some kind of leader for the ‘black community’, the likelihood of getting the message to be accepted is slim to none. Little barry bastard commie, Eric, Al, and Jesse have a vital need for these black yutes to become violent, filled with the lies spewed from Al and Jesse (Justa Jackasson). Community organizers are trainging these yutes via flash mobbing to come when called, as the cannon fodder the elite black thugs need for their odingaing of America.
The Justice Brothers time is near the end. Jesse because of age. ... Sharpton because of his exposure on MSNBC. One might think that Rev. Al’s MSNBC gig might help the cause, but I suspect it will have opposite effect over time. It’ll take less time, with all to see, to expose his brand of fraud.

Exactly. Conservatives should campaign and govern on our principles and let the chips fall where they may. Our strength is not that we say the right things, but that we are right. The instant we modulate our message to appeal to this group or that group we lose our advantage and become just another pack of panderers.

The events of our upcoming summer and fall will likely vaporize any last little shreds of this silly illusion for anyone still wrapping themselves in such wishful nonsense.
It's human nature to give up and quit if someone always loses. Success comes from playing in the right league. If we want to maximize success, we need to segregate, not by skin color but by skill level. We already have this for our children. High school basketball teams don't go up against college teams because they would always lose and would all soon quit in frustration. The black community was on the right track when they banded together to support local black businesses.
The 'sickness' in the black culture is supported and incentivized by white liberal elites. Without the 90%+ vote from blacks, white liberal elites would not be able to keep power. They need blacks dependent, angry, and willing to vote...
