No novelist could concoct a believable character to match Elizabeth Warren, the strategist behind the scarily-powerful and unaccountable Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and Democratic candidate for Senate. Professor Warren (she is a professor at Harvard Law School) cannot bear close scrutiny without revealing multi-layered hypocrisy and self-serving behavior. Oh, and a tendency to make herself look worse by taking far too long to confirm embarrassing truths, and looking like a weasel.
Warren is outraising incumbent Scott Brown, and is ahead in the polls. But Massachusetts voters have not yet savored the character of Warren, which embodies many local prejudices against Harvard types, the rich liberals who look down on everybody else. I hope that she continues to be herself and let voters get a sense of who she really is.
Fortunately for connoisseurs of liberal double standards, Howie Carr, Boston Herald columnist and talk radio host, is chronicling Warren's campaign. The entire column is a gem, but here is an excerpt:
______________________________
It's turning out that she's not quite the working-class heroine her worshipers in the limousine-liberal crowd thought she was.
Last week, news broke that Harvard Law had cited Warren as a minority hire - a Native American - when it was under criticism for lack of faculty diversity in 1996.
Asked Friday for proof of her Indian ancestry, Warren's said it's part of her family "lore."
She also said she couldn't "recall" if she'd ever claimed minority status when applying for a job and that she'd never known of Harvard's 1996 boast until Friday. When Brown's campaign demanded that Warren apologize for taking part in a "diversity sham," she said her campaign is searching for "evidence" of her Native American lineage.

Sleeping with The Boston Braves doesn’t count. Hope that’s not what’s coming down the news chute!
Now that we've seen Scott in action, I have to say that some of my friends might vote for him a second time, but no one is talking about him much. No enthusiasm. He's been a failure, and he's running as far Left as he can right now.
Warren will win.
Warren probably won’t win. Her kind have had their run and it’s over.
Another fake Indian ?
She should consult with dan Rather.
The old rule is that you will always learn if a person is from Harvard in the first ten minutes of any conversation.
RE: you will always learn if a person is from Harvard in the first ten minutes of any conversation.
I’m a little out of the loop here as I only graduated from a State University (WITHOUT DEBTS MIND YOU) — How will you know if a person is from Harvard?
TEN minutes? I can tell most times without fail by their attire.
Scott Brown is a RINO’s RINO, but he ain’t no Shining Path guerilla who teaches at Hahvud.
I think he will pull it out, which will be a great victory for conservatism, because we will have an R in Ted Kennedy’s seat. In Massachusetts, that’s the most we can currently hope for.
If the SCOTUS shoots down Obamacare, Obama will have surrendered Ted Kennedy’s seat for nothing. Savor that.
“... How will you know if a person is from Harvard?...”
Easy. If they show any sign of competence, they’ve got a math/science/engineering degree.
If not, they’re the typical modern Harvard quota baby “everyone gets an A” slug.
As for the law school, as Thumper’s mother said, “If you cannot say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.”

The technical term is “ring tappers”. Comes from the sound of always tapping the class ring on the table.

In Massachusetts, all we can hope for is they vote for someone who will do the LESSER damage to our society and our economy. But make no mistake -— DAMAGE will still be done.
I haven’t seen any good politician come out of Massachusetts since as far back as i can remember.
"Mom? While we're at it, what's my birth date? I was born, right?"
That was all he needed to know that I wasn't worth bothering with ever again.
Westminster Choir College is among the best music schools in the country. And Stevens is a first-class engineering school.
And P.U. used to be known as "College of New Jersey", which is now a pretty good school in its own right.
When I was there, one didn't make a big deal out of ones attendance. If people you didn't know asked where you went to school, you usually said, "Oh, the College of New Jersey" which was a graceful way to slide out of coming the ugly over people.
Anyone good with photoshop?
Her head needs to be photoshopped on a package of butter :>)...oh, wait - Margarine! It’s spreadable....

The last one I remember was Gov. Ed King (D) who was a true conservative. He was governor in the late ‘70s.
For the life of me I don’t see what’s attractive, either physically (duh) intellectually, or “leaderly” about this woman. Just another overpaid liberal mastermind who knows how you should live your life because she went to Harvard, collects $400K a year in salary, but you make too much and spend it unwisely, and if you know what’s good for you, having had the benefits of society and its infrastructure looking out for you and allowing you to work your disgusting, menial job to support your miserable family, you’ll listen to her and pay more in taxes and surrender your sovereignty to her superior intellect. She’s a female Larry Summers, except she probably has less of a failure rate, which isn’t that much of an accomplishment, since Summers has failed at every G***m thing he has ever done.
They will inform you in 2 minutes that they went to harvard and that they are a lot smarter than you.
