Disgraced ex-IMF boss Dominique Strauss-Kahn, once tipped to win France's presidential vote, has made a dramatic incursion into the campaign with a claim Nicolas Sarkozy orchestrated his downfall.
The accusation came as the battle between Mr Sarkozy and Francois Hollande grew ever more bitter, with the incumbent accusing the front-running Socialist of subjecting him to a Stalinist trial over his bid to woo the far right.
Mr Strauss-Kahn, in his first major newspaper interview since his disgrace a year ago, told Britain's The Guardian newspaper that his spectacular fall was orchestrated by opponents to prevent him standing as Socialist candidate.

The latest news is that DSK denied the interview published in the Guardian, where DSK accused Sarko of orchestrating his downfall. The author, Edward J. Epstein confirmed that the interview did take place on April 13.
The stories spread by Hollande’s Soros controlled mouthpiece Mediapart, claiming Sarko was offered $50 million by Khadafi to finance his campaign have been proven false. The so-called writers of the memos published by Mediapart have categorically denied they ever wrote them. Sarkozy will be filing a lawsuit for defamation against Mediapart this week.
It’s a shame that the Dominique Strauss-Kahn scandal didn’t break much later than it really did, like after he became the socialist nominee.
The only thing missing in this smear was Gloria Allred.
Musulman France, est fait accompli!
“Opinion polls say Mr Hollande will win the run-off against Mr Sarkozy.”
With the UK and Spain now in recession, and most of southern Europe teteering on insolvency, a victory for the socialists in France would be too much for the EU. Germany would not be able to restrain French excesses. France would not tolerate being treated like Vichy France II by a demanding Deutchland.
How true! I guess that’s proof positive that Sarko had nothing to do with it..
