No, it is not. A vote for someone else such as Virgil Goode is a vote for Virgil Goode. It does not go into Obama's column.
The timeworn party loyalty talking points aren't going to cut it this time around. The GOP-E showed in 2010 that to them, party loyalty only applies when their choice of RINO wins. Many conservatives are choosing to exercise that precedent now in response to Romney's annointment.
Bitch at the GOP-E for the state of the party now, especially when they stood back and let Romney engage in scorched-earth politics in the primary that led directly to the bad blood we see now.

“The timeworn party loyalty talking points aren’t going to cut it this time around.”
My sentiments exactly - the time has come to sink the leaky rowboat, swim to shore and start to build a more reliable vessel. Continuing to bail with milquetoast candidates who won’t stand up for the fundamental tenets of the party and our nation is foolishness.
So, if it ends up as
Obama 29 million
Romney 28 Million
Virgil Goode 5 Million
you contend that those votes weren't helpful to Obama?
The least you can do is be honest - many oif us don't intend to vote Romney, but we also won't sabotage Romney to ensure Obama is elected. We also refrain from using "new math" to justify ourselves - our beliefs are justification enough. If you need to justify yourself, you need to reassess. I know Rick's surprise departure hurt you, but he's gone - live with it.
