...This Presidential campaign cycle is very different for our family than the one in 2008. This time around, we have a four-year-old daughter we adopted from Ethiopia two years ago...
Because weve had the audacity to appear in public with our family, weve been getting hate mail from liberals who are deeply offended that a white family would raise a black child (the Huffington Post posted a video of Naomi and me at CPAC and it generated more than 1,000 comments, many of them utterly vile). Usually, I laugh at baseless criticism and it inspires me to work even harder at artfully annoying my critics. But when I get accused of actually harming my daughter by daring to raise her, it infuriates me. See, for example, an excerpt from tonights Facebook message:
I feel so sorry for your little girl! She has a hard complex life ahead of her! She should not be raised by people who vote against her best interests.
(It was longer and much more offensive.)

The left just *hates* when political conservatives do not neatly fit into their stereotypes of being selfish and/or racist.
The mythology must be maintained.
I’ve known refugees from Africa, Eritrea, black people, who have raised their children outside of the primitive, savage black American ghetto, and made sure these kids stayed out of that stinking, perverse culture’s influence.
Hubby and I are listening to Stephen King’s “The Stand” on audio book.
For anyone not familiar with it, it takes place after a bio-weapon is mistakenly released and almost everybody in the world is dead. And there is going to be some ultimate Stand taken against evil (or so it appears).
Anyway, the best part of the book so far concerns an extremely old black woman (108!) who is playing some BIG PART on the good side in this ultimate battle.
She is a dyed-in-the-wool Republican, actually says the FDR and his cohorts were COMMUNISTS and received on her 100th birthday a letter from President Regan congratulating her for reaching such a great age and for being the 5th oldest registered Republican in the country.
LOL, I loved that part!
My impression of Stephen King has been that he is a garden variety liberal, but you’d never know it from this book. So far, anyway.
Stories like this make my blood boil. Those girls still visit me when they come home from school. They were like my own daughters for several years.

Those girls’ success in life proves that liberals are the worst racists of all and must be fought to the gates of hell!
My son-in-law is first generation American, his parents were refugees from Pol-Pot's Cambodia. My SIL is very dark skinned. My grandbabies are dark skinned.
Do you have a problem with that?
I've stood in loco parentis to teenage black girls when my girlfriend was deployed to a war zone.
Do you have a problem with that?
I'm not even pasty white. I'm fish-belly white.
Get over it.

Because she needed a family.
Because they love others as themselves?
Because the parents want a child and the child needs a home.
The liberals hate.
Sure it’s not DNA.1950?
The first photo we have of our daughter (taken in her orphanage)
She is going to have a blessed life. Ignore the mind-warped critics.
Because they see a child who needs them and their love. They are not looking at the child’s skin color.
Good gravy! What a beautiful child!
Ouch, they would hate my niece who is a doctor married to a minister who has four boys by birth and a black daughter adopted from Rwanda. Need I even add that they are conservative.
Terrific book. The mini-series, out on DVD and starring Gary Sinise, is a pretty good adaptation, too. And Stephen King is a flaming Liberal.
I would assume that they wanted a child and weren't racist.
It could be that simple
