Somewhere, John Rocker is saying “don’t go there, man”.

A hate crime AND his race wasn’t mentioned. For those of us not into baseball it means one thing: he’s black. If he had been white his race would have been mentioned - or the color of his hair - or a picture would have been printed....

Full release of Brandon Inge, yesterday. I'm a Yankee fan but was always impressed by Inge's hustle.
This will help ease the pain ...
"The Tigers will have to pay Inge the remainder of his $5.5-million contract for this season,
plus a $500,000 buyout for his 2013 option."

There’s no such thing as a hate crime. I refuse to give it credibility even if the left does.
Fact is that young was drunk and got into a fight, the end.

Age is starting to catch up with Brandon Inge but he’s been a great all around athlete.
I know people who have met him and they say he doesn’t carry himself like a pro ball player. He’s just a regular guy who loves playing the game.

Hes just a regular guy who loves playing the game.
That could probably be said for 95% of all players until the 70s/80s when they all became overpaid prima donnas.
Can you imagine Lou Gehrig or Ernie Banks being arrested for an assault/hate crime?

I agree, cripplecreek. I’ve never believed in thought crimes - and shouldn’t have used their language...

I could imagine Ty Cobb being arrested for an assault/hate crime. He was one of the most despicable human beings to ever play MLB.

He looks mean. I don’t want him near Derek. Is he in jail for the rest of the series?

I agree and there were a few others as well. But as I said in my post - 95% were not like that.

Alan Trammel “negotiated” his own contracts with the Tigers management. For the last few years of his career, it was on a yearly basis usually the first day after the end of the season.

On the bright side.
When there is a movie made about the incident, Delmon Young will be played by Mel Gibson.
To: angcat
Or will he be riding the pine based on this incident?
To: cripplecreek
I agree. Some people should just never drink.
Especially if you’re already prone to being a moron when you have not been drinking.
