Injectable contraceptive doubles risk of breast cancer, study shows

An injectable form of birth control doubles breast cancer risk among young women, according to a new study. The study examined younger women, ages 20 to 44, and confirmed a link between depo-medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA) - the main ingredient in the contraceptive sold under the brand name Depo-Provera - and breast cancer risk.

Komen Foundation warns: Injectable contraceptive doubles risk of breast cancer. It's a joke - not the increased risk, but that Komen would tell women about it. As of April 23, the Komen website is silent on this news (reported by CBS and other outlets on April 5). Meanwhile Planned Parenthood keeps helping women by giving them cancer-causing injections - avoiding pregnancy is far more important than avoiding cancer, after all.

Tell every woman you love.

Komen Foundation comes out against this contraceptive, while financially supporting the largest purveyor of abortions...

Guess they are still trying to piss off their “friends” at planned abortionhood.

IIRC, all forms of oral birth control pills increase cancer risk...

All the unmarried sluts who take contraceptives, especially government funded ones, need to read the warning signs. May be breast cancer is a way to punish them.

Tell that to my aunt’s four children, and her widower. She died at 38.

Tell that to nuns who are at elevated risk.

Or the faithful wives who were infertile, and at elevated risk.

And just why would taxpayer-funded contraception be more carcinogenic that private-paid?

Contraceptives are poison... for your baby and for you, too! Those who take contraceptives should be thankful that they don’t die instantly, unlike the children they kill inside their wombs.

No denying it. Contraceptives kill... the mother and the baby.

My married daughter had taken Depo-Prevra and was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 22.

And it didn’t prevent pregnancy, although I am very thankful for that beautiful baby.

Breast cancer is very responsive to hormonal levels. If hormonal levels don't match the "species-normal" pattern for any reason, the cancer risk may very well be amplified.

Lifelong celibacy or infertility, both mean that women are having cycles month after month and missing out on the "rest" from cycles caused by pregnancy. A woman who never has children may have 600 cycles in her lifetime. A woman who has 4 children may have 60 cycles less (accounting for the "break" during pregnancy and, say, 6 months of lactational anovulatory "rest") --- and this is protective against breast cancer.

Your aunt evidently got cancer despite the protective effect of having 4 children. Of course I don't know why, but maybe she was in contact with other kinds of hormonal irregularities: OC's or endocrine disruptors of some sort (and there are many kinds.)

These things are not always traceable in the individual case, but they show up in the aggregate: more endocrine disruptors, more cancer. More abortions (especially of the first pregnancy, and especially in the first trimester), more cancer. More childlessness, more cancer.

More protective experiences of childbearing and breastfeeding, less cancer.

I hate it that the HHS is coercing every one of us into paying for endocrine disruptors and embryotoxins as if they were medicine. It's immoral to make me pay against my conscience--- especially when it does not heal others' illnesses, but actually MAKES them sick, disabled, or dead.
