Looks like the Tea Party sent Orin Hatch a message. They are still fighting for Walker in Wisconsin. West is one of the heroes of the Tea Party movement and he has gained the respect of many conservatives.
This election is so vital. Yes, we sent them a message in 2010 and we cannot undo all the time, effort and hard work to vote for a clear rino like Romney.
Romney has had to spend millions to obtain his delegates and he has 19 states to go..he is not winning a clear majority. He will not win against Obama.
YOU are right on about Newt. Name ONE living conservative that has accomplished as much as Gingrich did as speaker...there aren't any.
“”Republican Revolution” of 1994

Main article: Republican Revolution

In the 1994 campaign season, in an effort to offer an alternative to Democratic policies and to unite distant wings of the Republican Party, Gingrich and several other Republicans came up with a Contract with America, which laid out ten policies that Republicans promised to bring to a vote on the House floor during the first hundred days of the new Congress, if they won the election.[41] The contract was signed by Gingrich and other Republican candidates for the House of Representatives. The contract ranged from issues such as welfare reform, term limits, tougher crime laws, and a balanced budget law, to more specialized legislation such as restrictions on American military participation in United Nations missions.

In the November 1994 elections, Republicans gained 54 seats and took control of the House for the first time since 1954. Longtime House Minority Leader Bob Michel of Illinois had not run for re-election, giving Gingrich, the highest-ranking Republican returning to Congress, the inside track at becoming speaker. The midterm election that turned congressional power over to Republicans “changed the center of gravity” in the nation's capital.[42] Time magazine named Gingrich its 1995 “Man of the Year” for his role in the election

Tell that to Bob Bennett and Orrin Hatch.

It ain't over 'till it's over.

I am sorry to pee on your parade, but newt has been the establishment since he was born. newt on illegals, cap and tax, scozzafava, sitting on a couch....any couch...with pelosi eliminates this jackwagon from my vote. Pelosi is insane. Newt would do the moon colony while taxing us more. He is unstable. His wife is a control freak. No thanks. Palin should be chanted long and loud at the convention.

Thanks for this thread.

_____________

HEY ROMNEY!

Look us in the eye,
And never, EVER lie!
If you mean what you say,
Then say what you mean!

Stand and deliver
What you plan to do,
In case you haven’t noticed,
No one likes you.

Our line in the sand,
Puts your “Romney Road to Ruin”
Alongside “Obama’s Wrong Track.”
So stop your damned “Smiley-Face,”
And attack, Attack, ATTACK!

We will oppose you in Tampa,
For what you lack,
We want America to be back
On the Constitution Track.

Do you have it in you?
I doubt that you do,
You see a Pinko future,
And we see Red, White and Blue.

This article is a J-O-K-E. Tell it to Richard Lugar, tell it to Orrin Hatch. They are shitting in their Depends over Tea Party-endorsed upstarts, and Lugar is going down at the very least. We are not done by a longshot.

LOL Yeah GOPe, we’ve crawled back under our rocks. We’re working tirelessly to defeat you in races all across the country. There is no time to come out with flags waving. You’ll be hearing from us in the ‘12 elections, just like you did in ‘10.

When ‘None of the Above’ is the favored Nominee, then the Delegates at the National Convention in Tampa are obligated to reject the ‘winner’ and select the BEST Nominee.

The Primary Campaign thus far has shown that the politics of ‘Debt and Decline’ of Obama will not be changed with the GOP Nominee being Romney.

This Primary Campaign has shown that only the candidates without a workable plan to reduce baseline Federal spending are popular with the Primary voters.

Hence, it is incumbent upon the Republican National Committee to step in, withdraw their endorsements of Romney, and declare an open Convention in Tampa.

To do less is to insure another 4 years of voters choosing 4 more years of ‘Debt and Decline’ from Obama, or Romney.

We, as a Nation, cannot afford either one.

Listen to this from the story:

==============But when asked about the tea-party’s influence in interviews here, the movement was always spoken of in the third person and as one constituency in the larger Republican coalition, sort of like defense hawks or fiscal conservatives.

Many Republicans here said that tea-party activists now understand that things will run more smoothly if those with experience are in charge rather than those who put a premium on ideology over process.==============

If anybody needed to know the extend of the GOP-E’s arrogance, there it is right there.

They look down upon conservatives in a major way.

GOP elders sympathize with the movement’s ideas and want to channel whatever energy the decentralized groups offer for November.

I'll bet they do. But this "sympathy" comes at the cost of offering a candidate that is anathema to everything the Tea Party adherents stand for: large government, gun control, pro-abort. What we have here is nothing more than lip service: the lip service Romney has made toward the conservative position on these issues that his record contradicts, and the lip service the GOP elite has made toward the Tea Party people on the ideas with which they purportedly "sympathize." It is, in short, a lie.

...when asked about the tea-party’s influence in interviews here, the movement was always spoken of in the third person and as one constituency in the larger Republican coalition...

This is, I think, excellent analysis. Were this the traditional politics it seems, some concession would be made to this constituency, some compromise, but in fact nothing of the sort has been made or looks likely. Does anyone really think Romney is going to start pushing Tea Party programs? Does anyone think that a Vice Presidential candidate acceptable to the Tea Partiers is even on the table when the talk is of Rice and Portman?

Clearly the GOPe considers the Tea Party movement not ready for national prime time, and perhaps they are correct. But the attempts to incorporate its passion, its programs, its membership into a broader Republican effort have been just as amateur and ineffectual as anything they have accused the Tea Partiers of. It simply isn't very good politics and it doesn't look to improve much. I'd love to be wrong about that but the smart money just isn't on it.

The Republican Party establishment has withstood the tea-party revolution.

The election hasn't been held yet, and even if Romney wins the nomination, AND the election, there might be even more Tea Party types in the House and Senate come Jan. of 2013. THAT would be the ultimate poke in the eye to the elites.

The GOP didn’t become the RAT party lite overnight & we will not drag it back kicking & screaming from the path of socialism , sodomy & surrender overnight or in just one election cycle !

Keep the faith in your fellow citizens who actually give a shit about the Constitution& keep working & hounding the bastard in Washington D.C. .

We will have to literally grind them down ,yes it will take time but that is what must be done . We are in this for the sake of our children & their children ! It is going to be a long drawn out forced march to overcome the “Old Guard “ of the party but it is the only way .
